Enjoy everything Southern Maryland has to offer all within a 10 minute drive - Calvert Cliffs, Flag Ponds, Solomons Island - hiking, fishing, boating and beaches. Located just 90 minutes outside DC, The Lake House will become your new go-to retreat from the hustle. Come relax and make memories on the water with your family and friends. The Space: This is the tranquil getaway you're looking for! Bay breezes off the water, coffee on the screened porch in the morning, an afternoon kayak on the lake, an evening soak in the hot tub or a glass of wine on the pier at sunset while the kids play in the retro arcade. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in nature with modern amenities, look no further! The Lake House is updated and equipped with everything you will need for your getaway - 3 spacious bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The primary bedroom ensuite has a large shower, while the hall bath and the lower level ensuite have tubs. Enjoy cooking meals in the full kitchen with everything you will need to prepare and share meals at home. The kitchen is stocked with everything from plates and glasses to cookware, serving dishes, utensils, toaster, blender. Nothing has been overlooked! The kitchen has a Keurig coffee maker that will make individual cups of coffee or up to a 12 cup pot of coffee for a crowd! We include a starter supply of K-cups and sugar as well as coffee filters for making a pot of coffee. You will need to supply ground coffee and any additional coffee/sugar/creamer you will need beyond what is provided. Our bathrooms are stocked with towels, hand towels and wash cloths as well as a starter supply of toilet paper - 2 rolls per bathroom. The living room has a 42 inch Smart TV - bring your own password to login to your Netflix, Prime, Hulu accounts. There is no cable TV. You will need to login into your personal streaming accounts. The kids will LOVE the retro arcade! And the adults will be transported back in time while playing the retro Nintendo games. The arcade has an electronic dart board, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter II, Ms. Pacman cocktail table with 60 additional games and a Marvel electronic pinball machine! Endless fun in the evenings or rainy days. Take the kayaks out on the lake (April - October) or bring your pole (and fishing permit) and walk down to the rocks and go fishing in the Patuxent River! Grill outside on the deck overlooking the lake and enjoy dinner under the stars on the picnic table. Finish the day with a glass of wine on the Pier watching the boats go by on the river. The Neighborhood: Our home is located in a water access community. You will have access to the community beaches. The neighborhood is laid back and friendly. You can bring your fishing pole and walk down the street (2 minute walk) to the river and fish off the rocks! Other Things to Note: Please understand that we are sharing our lake cabin as a relaxing getaway with family and friends and fun in nature and on the water. This space is not meant for parties. We require that quiet hours are observed after 10pm out of respect for our neighbors and in keeping with the peaceful nature of our community. The hostess was very easy to communicate with and checked in throughout the stay to ensure everything was going well. Everything is exactly as pictured and was spotless and in good working condition. My only problem is that I didn't stay long enough to use every amenity! We REALLY appreciated the coffee supplies and fully stocked kitchens and baths. The property is perfectly decorated and very clean! The kitchen is well stocked with knives, plates, cups and pans for convenience. Even kitchen knives were sharpened and ready for use. Plenty of clean, fluffy towels for use. Laundry room had not one, but 2 dryers to get our swimsuits and towels separately dried. Location is close to pier fishing and the pool. We love the little pier out back to the pond and the firepit with tealights out back was just lovely for memory making with the kids with s'mores every night. I couldn't get the boys away from the arcade room downstairs! Actually, forget the boys, the dads were too much into the nostalgic games every night after dinner. This house has everything and more. The house is well- appointed, comfortable, immaculate, and welcoming, with more than enough room for my wife, three kids, and mother-in-law. The kitchen and dining area were perfect for enjoying our T-Giving meal, with a fire going in the background, and a nice fall view of the lake and trees surrounding the home. My boys (and I) loved the arcade room. A lot of thought and TLC went into that room and we felt it ( the whole house really). The games were fun for my boys and a nastalgic gift for me--hadnt played games like Street Fighter, Contra, Mario 2, or Battle Toads in thirty years. So fun to enjoy with my boys! Lot to play in the arcade room! The bedrooms were super clean and comfortable( as was the whole house). I've never slept on more comfortable pillows.The hot tub was a big hit, too, and the contrast of cool/cold seasonal air with the hot water made it really relaxing. I enjoyed sitting in the tub, watching the last of the fall leaves float to the ground, and feeling a slight river/bay breeze tickle my brow. The lake in the back yard was quite scenic as well--it was frequented by a brace of Mallards, prettty talkative at times, and a lone Blue Heron, who seemed to like to perch at various places around the lake. The walk to the river was nice and the river sunsets were beautiful! Julie is a great host, accomodating, kind, amd responsive. Thank you, Julie! ##### Paul H. Was great not to have to drive 2 hours each way for a day on the boat. On rainy days there were plenty to do inside. Loved the arcade basement. Only 2 issues, the grill was dirty, the whole bottom was filled and stared on fire, thankfully we didn’t burn our dinner. Where do I begin to list how amazing this property was. First the location is on an beautiful island with the best pier town vibe. The house is wonderfully made for couples and families. There is the coolest arcade in the basement next to a bedroom where children could sleep. The upstairs is immaculate and the screened in porch is perfect to enjoy the air without bugs.
