The Garland is an adorable retro/funky hotel. We enjoyed our time there. The rooms are a good size, conveniently located for the area, shuttle to universal was so nice to have available on site and everything was clean. The cleaning staff came by everyday with fresh linens and took out the trash.

The decor is fun and uplifting. Rooms are very clean and decorated well. Liked the bathroom setup as well. I almost have to find an excuse to go to a show at the Hollywood Bowl so I can stay at The Garland!

Amazing stay such a cute place. Staff is amazing and friendly when checking in and out. But my only one thing was the radio kept playing some static noise and I had to unplug but other than that it was comfortable. Will b coming back again

Stayed 4 days. Staff was so friendly and very accommodating for a late checkout. Opened the door for you every time. Pool bar food was great. 21 hot tub was a nice touch. Super close to universal with free shuttle. Will be back again!

We arrived earlier and they provided an early check-in at no extra cost. In addition, I forgot my cell phone at the restaurant and they were extra cautious to keep it safe and holding it until the end of the day for me. I am so thankful to all staff from Valet, front desk, restaurant staff lobby bell boys and room service for their ability to provide best service and attention. Thank You.

What it was convenient was the he shuttle service to universal studios within different hours and return times. Room is clean and room was recleaned when we left the room and came back. Rooms were available before check in time.

Overall our stay at The Garland was wonderful. I wish there was a shop downstairs that carried more every day items. The Front Yard restaurant on site was disappointing. We paid $68 for two entrees and a starter and were thoroughly disappointed and barely ate half of it.

This hotel was decent but there were a few things I didn't care for. First off, when we checked in the gentleman at the front desk asked if we were there for a special occasion. We explained we were there for our sons birthday and had planned to take him to Universal Studios. He said there woule be 2 free juices in our room for him which wasn't the case. Second, there is a $36 fee for parking which wasn't indicated when we booked the hotel. This was pretty crazy to us since we had already paid over $1,200 for a 3-night stay. Third, the pressure in the shower was awful and the design of the shower door was such that water would get all over the floor while showering. As for the food at the restaurant, it was just mediocre. Most of the food we tried was really bland and lacked seasoning. Lastly, they have a free trolley to Universial Studios however, the driver called in sick the morning we were going, so we ended up having to take an Uber. All in all it was just an okay experience. Not sure if I'd choose to stay here again.

It’s a vintage aesthetic, early 1970s SoCal resort vibe. It’s been renovated and is well maintained. It’s a fun place to stay, with modern amenities, including two bars and a restaurant.

Spent a lot of money to stay in a dark basement room with low ceiling and very noisy neighbors. Staff friendly and restaurant good but would definitely not stay here again.

Staying in this boutique hotel, you are near everything, a short walk or drive but when the day is over, coming back here makes you feel like you are staying in a resort, away from the hustle and bustle. Staff is amazing, decor spectacular and breakfast was perfect.

I really liked staying at The Garland! The rooms were very quiet; we staying in a room across from the elevator and I was a little worried about hearing it open and close, but nothing!! It was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful! Will stay again!

The staff was amazing and very welcoming. We enjoyed having the amenities they offered! However, the parking was pricey and we only received $100 back from our $200 deposit (parking for two nights and a bunch of fees added on that they don’t mention when you book).

Very satisfied with our stay. We were able to change rooms quickly after smelling cigarette smoke in the first room we were given. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Every staff member we encountered were friendly and welcoming. We liked that there was a movie theater where we could enjoy a movie in the evening. Would definitely consider staying here again on our next trip to LA.
