BED BUGS . No response from Hotel. Could have been a good place but even without the bed bugs the cleaning was very average!!!

Bedroom very clean bathroom and shower great but had to squeeze past laundry and bags on the stairs. Staff very pleasant but we booked room for 3 no bedding or towels for 3rd person but tbh manager sorted this out but again on 2nd day no towels left for 3rd person i had to open fresh laundry bag lying on stairs to get these .

Cool place to stay, it’s over the Duke of York pub! Older building beautifully refurnished. The rainfall shower stall was awesome. Bhargav is an excellent host and super helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a great crash pad in an excellent location to see London. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel offers a great place to get some sleep and freshen up. No thrills but the friendly staff and hot shower is exactly what we wanted when booking.

The gentleman that checked us in was outstanding. The tube was just a short distance away, the public transportation is so easy to use. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the food served downstairs was wonderful.

Nice room but !
The room was very good and adequate for our needs, however, the entrance lobby and stairs was in desperate need of revamping. The bar was not going to be opened until February and the door had been damaged and not repaired. We went out for breakfast. The man who checked us in was very friendly.

Great little room for very affordable price. Spotlessly clean and while bathroom was small the rainfall shower was excellent. For central London this is hard to beat

Absolutely incredible, would recommend to anyone, 5 minute walk to Oxford street, we went purely for winter wonderland which was a 10 minute walk away. On a lovely quiet street however round the corner plenty of dining, fast food and shops around. Travelling in and out of London was also easy and in a convenient place. Just wish we were told that Sundays is free parking so if you wanted to drive all the way it is perfect. The man I assume is the owner was absolutely lovely and so helpful. Offered for us to keep our bags there the day we were going home if we wanted to. No disturbance from the other guests. As well as a tv, kettle with tea bags and milk and shampoo provided with our stay. A very luxurious stay at a cheap price rate and would definitely be my first recommendation for anyone looking to stay around there. Cannot thank the lovely owner enough for how helpful he was and made us feel very safe from when we first walked in.

DO NOT STAY, BED BUGS!!
Do not stay in this hotel unless you want to be eaten alive by the bed bugs living here. Unfortunately I realised too late and a week later I was covered head to toe in bites. I seem to have had an allergic reaction to them too so became quite unwell. Have spent a fortune now on decontaminating all our belongings and a new bed. We emailed the hotel to warn them to deal with the problem but they weren’t interested, didn’t even reply.

Quiet location, super close to Hyde Park, restaurants, shopping areas and pubs. The room was good, just a little small if you are staying longer - but if you are out all day and just sleeping/showering it won’t matter! Wi-Fi worked great, the shower was awesome.

Nice room above a quiet pub. Easily walkable from Paddington station, edgeware road or Oxford Street. Room is small (as you would expect in London and at this price) but appears to have been recently upgraded to a modern standard. Chairs are narrow and steep so if you are Mobility challenged (or unfit) ask for a room on the first floor. Overall, good for the price.

Perfect for a post party 1 night stay. I was on the 3rd floor and stairs are narrow but I only had a carry overnight bag so no probs. Staff helpful and friendly and I had no issues at all. Exactly what I needed it to be simple and affordable.

Get a room on 1st/2nd floor!
Reasonably comfortable stay but on 3rd floor and no lift. Kettle did not work and had to fetch hot-water 3 floors down. limited restaurant menu especially as 2 of the normally offered meals missing.

Unfortunately this hotel was not worth what we paid. I would recommend looking elsewhere. If it was a quarter of the price, maybe it's ok. The staff (owner?) was nice enough and even offered luggage storage on our way out in the morning (not that I would want to leave my luggage in an area like that). The bathroom was probably the best part of the whole experience. The room was so small and was up three flights of stairs (no elevator or second fire exit/stairs). The room didn't look like the one that is shown when you book the room type. The comforter was dirty/stained and there was some hairs in the sheets. There is a bar on the first floor but we didn't even try to go down given the pretty rough location. Overall I think this is case of someone thinking they can handle running a hotel but the whole effort is DOA. Save your self the regret and stay closer to the city

Overall I give the place 5 stars. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room, though small, was nice. If you are looking at this property just be aware it shares the building above a local pub (you check in inside the pub) and there are no elevators. The pub also has great beer and food so you don’t even need to go far. Local transportation to all the major tourist sites is within 5 minutes walking time. Rooms have good air conditioning. Being an older building it’s not very sound proofed between rooms so be aware of that. I loved the place and the staff and would stay here again.

Such a lovely hidden gem! The room was well maintained and comfortable with a small bar downstairs where we could grab a drink. The staff even let us store our luggage prior to check in so we could explore the city. Would definitely stay again!

Mouse in room! No sleep! Awful!
There was a mouse in my room! Absolutely awful! Did not get any sleep as was so worried! Reported to reception (Bhargav), but he didn’t say much and didn’t really know what to do. Just said he will get it sorted for future. Shame as actually room would have been fine, but obviously the mouse affected my stay. Please refund fully. I told Bhargav I would be requesting a full refund from hotels.com as wasn’t happy with the situation. Thank you.

Above a bar but not noisy, bar closes around ten or eleven each night and really wasn’t very busy at least for my stay (I stayed wed to mon). Narrow stairs to get to rooms. Small but clean and comfortable. Noise between rooms and in hallways/ stairs carry loudly, that as well as non functioning safes were the only two complaints I have of my stay.

Perfect hotel for a getaway
Perfect hotel! Great location, lovely bar below the hotel where they have the best staff - super friendly and helpful. We were worried that we might hear the pub during the afternoon/eve but didn’t hear a thing. The room was super clean and daily housekeeping which is great. The area was very quiet and the tube stop only 5/10 min walk.

Filthy!! Dust Dust & more Dust!
Filthy!! Avoid Room with double bed & ensuite above a pub. Three floors accessed by a steep staircase. Location was quiet (I didn’t see one person in the pub!) & convenient for central London. Check in was slow, check out was fast. Sadly the room was really let down by cleanliness. Dust, dirt, limescale, I have no idea when the carpets were last vacuumed. My Friend’s room even had dirty cups from the last occupant. Stairway & bar area was also dusty with dust webs hanging from light fittings & on shelves. I did not stay for breakfast. Continental breakfast consisted of fruit, cheese & meats laid out on the bar with no covers or refrigeration. Hotels.com were not interested. They offered a 25 USD goodwill gesture - I live in UK & paid in GBP! I am still waiting for Hotels.com to contact me within 72 hrs ( it’s now 4 days after complaint was raised)

Place above a pub v expensive and filthy
The guy that runs the hotel is fabulous he can not do enough for you! Very very good. However, the room is clean apart from the bottom of the toilet that has skid marks on it. It’s the rest of the place which is the issue the pub is filthy the light shades haven’t been touched years as it the hotel stair case. The paintwork is a disgrace and the carpet may have been hovered but only down the middle the edges are untouched as is the paint work. London prices are excessive but this place is what I would expect for £120 not £240. Even at £120 you would expect it to be clean. All the pubs around this place were full this place isn’t I wonder why.

The hotel hallway was filthy it looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in years. The “triple” room was absolutely tiny. The bed was dirty and full of hairs. It was a complete rip off.

Great for a layover
We stopped here for a night and it was fantastic. Great location, 8-10 minute walk to Marble Arch and the start of Oxford Street. Room was small but perfectly adequate and it was clean. It is above a pub which closes at 11pm but we didn’t hear any noise at all. Really good value for money in a city where the sky can be the limit. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

While it wasn’t what we are used to in the US it was a delightful inn to stay in. The guy that works there was amazing! He worked every day and made it great. Rooms were small but had essentials. Fresh towels daily as well! Pub downstairs NEVER disturbed us and closed up promptly at 11 pm. I recommend staying here!
