Basic hotel in a convenient location

Posted 21-Apr-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Sound proofing and shower
The room was pretty basic but what I expected from the room rate. However, I was disappointed to find in the morning that I could hear every word being spoken in the breakfast room next door as it spoilt my lie in!

Sadly the only good thing was the welcome.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Replace dirty lace curtain. Replace shower curtains which were mouldy. Sort out sewerage smell in bathroom . The smell over ran into the bedroom.
Very disappointed. Wanted to treat my grandchildren to a few days in London, the accommodation was a very big disappointment.

Middle of the road

Hotel was nice and clean. Room was good size for family of 3. Loved the old building- very English. Disappointed though that there weren't many places to eat close by and the closest underground station was a pretty good walk. Enjoyed the stay, but next time will stay somewhere with plenty of food options. Also the staff was not very helpful when asking for information on shops and restaurants.

St. George Hotel London - 18th Feb

Posted 22-Feb-2016 on Hotels
I stayed at the St. George hotel for a business trip. The hotel is very well situated within walking distance of Baker Street underground station and with various places to eat close by. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful upon check-in and the room was very clean. The room had all the basic facilities needed for a short stay. The only minor drawbacks were there was no lift available to reach the upper floors so that meant I had to go up four flights of stairs to reach my room. Also, the wi-fi signal was very weak, perhaps because I was on an upper floor. Overall, if you're looking for a hotel for a 1 or 2 night business stay in this area, the St. George is a good option at a reasonable price.
