Our second experience was not as good as the first
I cannot give a rate of 5 this time. We booked this hotel because we stayed there in July of last year and we loved it; it was a 5. The "loved it" now changed to "liked it" due to two issues: the front desk staff was not as pleasant as the first time. It might be because London was full to the brim with the London Marathon scheduled the next day, therefore, I blamed it on "stress", but then, I had another experience with a front desk staff that I perceived as rude. I was given room 131, first room from the elevators. The first morning people that were participating in the marathon woke up early and woke us up. Vacations are made to sleep late. The room besides 131 is also the luggage storage room. The banging of the door as it closed plus the noise made with the luggage and people talking in the room was another nuisance. The bellmen are wonderful. The place is very clean. The room has everything you need, even a small kitchenette. It is still a very good hotel, but avoid room 131.

We are glad you chose to stay with us again however we are disappointed room 131 was not up to our usual standard.
