Cabins in a Clearing : Chestnut, Walnut and Beech - check all 3 cabins
Cabins In A Clearing has 3 primitive cabins built in the woods and is also located in the Hocking Hills of Ohio There is a porch, fire ring and grill, heat is provided. Situated 13 miles from Old Man’s Cave. A double bed with linens is provided in Chestnut Cabin along with night stands, book shelves for clothes, etc., and a cafe table with chairs inside, a divided bench table on the porch and a picnic table in the patio. You can eat at the fire ring on cross-section posts if you like. A water line delivers water to a stand pipe along the driveway in a common area accessible by all. A waterproof usb receptacle is close to and behind the water stand pipe making charging of devices easy. Swimming is not permitted in either of the two ponds. Catch and release fishing is permitted when the pond area is not otherwise being used. Each cabin can host 2 adults comfortably and cots without linens can be provided with an additional cost for up to two kids.
We have now added private shower stalls outside each cabin using water bags heated by the Sun. We tried them and on a 68 degree F day, three hours of direct sun produced heated water in excess of 105 degrees F, as hot as many home showers.

Exactly as described. The cabin was so well insulated from the cold that we only ran the heater in the morning and evening for ~15 minutes and it kept itself a comfortable temperature (we were there mid October). The hosts provided extras like matches, lanterns, and chairs around the fire among others that made our visit even better. All guests park in the same place, so only 1 of the 3 cabins allows you to park right outside. However, a nice quality off road wagon was available for us to easily pull our items to the cabin in one trip. Oasis coffee and other restaurants are only 15 minutes away, but we got to still enjoy the camping experience. The outhouse was so clean it seemed brand new. I would absolutely stay here again.
We recommend bringing extra water for brushing teeth etc but there is a water spigot if needed.
It was everything I was looking for. A primitive site for a weekend of hiking. It was very clean, comfortable, with some nice extra amenities.Like propane heater, extra lights, wash bowl, and pitcher. It was more expensive than I thought a primitive cabin might be. But overall I'm very happy with the experience!
It was a great experience, perfect cabin for me and my partner. The hosts were very kind and easy to get ahold of. Very close to everything, definitely will come back again!
My wife and i booked this cabin because we were in hocking hills to hike all day. Did get a bit warm at night but other then that it met our needs perfectly.

It was very cute and quiet. Besides no electricity, no shower or bathroom, and a messy area around cabin, all was good otherwise !
This was an awesome little place to rent for the weekend! Very clean, secluded, and not too far from everything to do. Charles is also a great and accommodating host. I'll DEFINITELY rent from him again!

The cabin was nice but i booked 2 days and only got to stay for one. I wasnt sent the info to get in (acess code) and couldn't get in contact with them until the 2nd day. Vrbo couldnt either. They told me i would get reimbursed but still have not. They were nice on the phone once i finally got in contact with them but the not being reimbursed due to them not allow me access in a timely fashion and having to book a hotelfor that first night really just kinda bothers me still.

The property owner was very nice. There was a communication issue due to a booking site glitch. The description of the "cabins" on expedia is misleading. These are finished sheds with no power, lighting, or plumbing. Its a shed with windows, a vinyl laminated floor and paneling on the walls. Heat is a propane space heater which didn't feel safe. There were fire and carbon monoxide alarms inside but i wasn't confident they had working batteries. So we didnt use the heater. The "cabin" was clean but there was an odor of old shed and bug spray. The bed was also clean but very uncomfortable. The listing said 1/2 bath. There is no bathroom or plumbing. The bathroom is 2 port o johns. Both clean but in the other side of the lot. The cabin area is completely unlit. So at night its pitch black. The property owner gave us some small flashlights to use to get back and forth to the car and port o johns. The owners house and yard is lit with solar lights so i found it odd that cabins that were rented to guests didnt at least have some sort of lighting. At least for walk ways. There were small lanterns provided for light inside as well. There is also a pinic table and some chairs outside but everything was dirty needed pressure washing. I wasn't expecting perfect accommodations but for the price I expected more than an unlit shed with a foam matress, port o johns and dollar store lanterns.
