We had a group of 11/12 year old girls doing arts and crafts. Bed was rock hard and almost impossible to sleep on. The pillows were the size of a throw pillow, and the rooms had a smell. I wouldn’t give my dog a bath in that bath/shower. It was stained, didn’t have a drain, and the faucet leaked the entire night. There were no elevators so lugging your suitcase up the steps was fun. And there is a train that is outside the hotel - that blows the horn. "

"Very clean, newly painted room. Great shower. The woman manning the breakfast bar was very rude to a young man trying to make waffles. He obviously needed a reassuring presence, not a judging overload. As for the breakfast, limited options. there were no hot egg options, no bacon or sausage."

"Lovely historic property in excellent location. BUT, if you have mobility issues, beware. Rooms are accessible by stairs only. The hotel does not have an elevator. Room 200 has a vintage clawfoot tub with shower. There are no safety grab bars which would be helpful when stepping up and over the high sides of the tub. Owners would be wise to add this feature to make it safer."

"Ofcourse it’s great for children who love trains. We had a two bed caboose option and wished we gone with bunk beds so had more floor space for them to play around inside. Being right beside the train tracks, buggy rides and petting farm, the restaurant and shop is just perfect. If you have little ones the shop in the restaurant has some great books available too."
