I think one dining option within 30 minutes which is okay as most would use community kitchen anyway. Great for backpackers with laundry, clothes lines, showers.

I appreciated the friendliness of the owners. I booked by mistake the wrong night and their “ no problem” attitude was appreciated I also enjoyed the real character of the shepherds sleepout and facilities The price was very reasonable which was great for a person travelling on their own Thank you

I guess $80 foesnt buy much these days but I feel this was over priced. Especially considering the locatoon and facilities. Things were clean but very basic.Hard to understand locating it beside the main highway. Signage for access to the river would have been nice....but it was clear that little effort has been made here to do much besides make money off tourists.

Well well How right I was. I had you down as a complainer. Firstly if you had a single bed it would of cost you 40. Luxury is never mentioned, basic is. You had everything man requires. They were built long before a highway was thought of - over 100 years old. We have accommodation by the river and their privacy is important. We found your attitude unfriendly on arrival. Best you stay at home or go to the ritz next time

Great little cabin. Private in a paddock, all the extras you need great bbq. Bathtub in the paddock to watch the incredable evening star show. Grocery store only 10k away if you need supplies. Owner helpful and informative . Well worth te experience

Quiet, beautiful place to see a skyful of stars at night. Not fancy, but very comfortable: hot showers, good wifi, and all the basics in the kitchen. Pleasant and inexpensivr stay

Fun accommodation
Stayed in the wagon which was novel. Quiet and clean and away from the traffic. Comfy beds and all essential amenities provided. We used the shower blocks at main site a few minutes away but there is a bath if you wanted one. Bring mossie spray.

Cute wagon stay near Omarama
We stayed in a cute little refurbished wagon which, while completely off-grid had all the mod cons, including wifi. And the old bath set up as a hot tub was great - soaking outside in the hot water while looking at the mountains and colourful lupins. Recommended if you want something a bit different.

The owner of the place was very friendly and my daughter got to play or feed Henry and other sheep. The bed was very comfortable and good wifi too.

You can feel you are in New Zealand here
The mood around the motel was awesome, with a lot of livestock and great nature. I felt "I'm in New Zealand". Each cabin is separated and some may need to walk through the grass to the kitchen or the restroom. The room we stayed was next to the kitchen. It was sometimes noisy while others cooking but it was convenient in a sense. We could access to the kitchen and restroom easily.

Very basic, old place in remote area
The rooms are extremely basic and pretty old. Have to walk outside in the grass to go to the toilet, shower, kitchen and common area. The showers offer little privacy, there is no separation between male and female showers and there is just a curtain separating the showers which can be very uncomfortable and awkward. There is literally nothing around, it takes some 15 minutes by car to reach the town. Good things are the price and the wifi.

Best you stay in town then or the Ritz. They are advertised as basic, you have everything that is necessary at our backpackers. Plenty around if you happen to look about you, natural scenery- mountains, .

Natur pur, aber gemütlich
Der Wagen steht auf einer ehemaligen Weide, ca 100m vom Fluss entfernt. Die Straße sieht man kaum und ist auch gute 300m oder mehr entfernt (man hört nichts). Die Badewanne braucht etwas bis das Flusswasser erhitzt ist, aber dann kann man mit einem wahsinns Ausblick und Kerzen baden. Das Klohäuschen ist natürlich ohne Porzellan, aber dennoch nicht zu unangenehm.

Tromperie sur la location
prix démesuré pour dormir dans une roulotte. Pas de sanitaire. Baignoire dans la nature, toilettes bricolées. Pas d'eau chaude ni d'eau courante. L'eau alimentaire vous est fournie dans un jéricane. Le lieu est volontairement caché par les propriétaires. A l'arrivée, c'est la douche froide au sens propre comme figuré. Ne justifie pas le prix de 66€ payé.
