Amazing second floor unit with a king bed in building 3, Step out onto your lanai and your view is a peaceful green field with the ocean behind it. The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa is a beautiful Hawaiian resort located on 25 acres of lush Garden Isle, centrally located between Kauai’s south and north shores, making it perfect for your island adventures. Only minutes from the airport, Costco, Walmart and Shopping. You will go thru a tree canopy lined drive that leads to the resort. Several acres of beach front property to enjoy and explore. On property there are four swimming pools, complete with water falls, a poolside cabana bar and grill, two jacuzzies, fitness center and day spa. Paradise will be your back yard! RESORT AMENITIES • 4 swimming pools, including 2 lagoon pools, 75-ft lava tube slide, & kid-friendly sand bottom pool. • Two whirlpool spas, one amidst a stone grotto and surrounded by lush ferns and an exotic waterfall. • Two restaurants on site. • "Take-Out" service available from the restaurant • Poolside Driftwood Bar and Grill • Free Wi-Fi access in lobby, restaurants, and the pool areas. • Hawaiian Rainforest Boutique Spa offering sauna, spa treatments, massages ect. • Activities and tour desk. • ATM, ice machines, purified water machines and vending machines. • Fitness room • Business center with computer. • Fridge for your food, soda, wine, etc. • In room, blow dryer, iron, ironing board. • There is a coffee maker in the room. The Naupaka Terrace restaurant and Driftwood Bar & Grill (poolside) will remain open and available to serve you. PARKING • $40/day parking fee paid directly to Kauai Beach Resort at check-in. CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT POLICY • Check-in time is 4:00 PM / Check-out time is 11:00 AM. Check in procedure: Simply check in at the front desk with your name and booking info. HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES • Please note that daily maid service is not included when renting direct through VRBO. The cleaning fee included in your payment to VRBO covers cleaning/re-stocking the room after your stay. If you would like a mid-stay cleaning (maid service) for your room it is $65 each cleaning. As Private Unit guest you have full access to the pools, whirlpool spas, the grounds, the beach, the business center, the restaurants, the lounge, the poolside bar, live music, the fitness room, and the Hawaiian Rainforest Spa. By renting via VRBO you avoid paying the $35 per day resort fee charged by Kauai Beach Resort. However, the Hawaiian Cultural classes, which include classes like Hula and Lei Making are not included as part of your stay. \----------------------------------------------------------------- FAQs - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS IS THIS CONDO OR A HOTEL ROOM? Both. The resort was previously a Hilton hotel, the units are just like hotel rooms. However, they are privately owned “condotels”. The resort operates much like a hotel, and most guests are not aware that the units are privately owned. Most of the units are offered to the public through the resort or through travel sites at much higher retail prices. Although, a few are offered on VRBO at owner rates with access to the resort’s amenities. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RENTING ON VRBO vs. THE RESORT The $$$ price and also maid service. Renting direct through VRBO saves you a lot of money. However, daily maid service is not included. The cleaning fee you pay when booking takes care of cleaning and restocking the unit after your stay. DOES THE UNIT HAVE A KITCHEN? No. They do not have kitchens they were previously hotel rooms. ARE WE ABLE TO COOK IN THE UNIT? No. Local fire ordinances do not allow cooking in any of the rooms. The resort has a microwave in the lounge area on the 5th floor of Building 2 that can be used by all guests. WHAT IS THE RESORT’S BEACH LIKE? The resort is located on a 3-mile stretch of beautiful beach, amazing for long walks. The beach is very scenic but, is not considered a swimmable beach as it has a decent amount of coral. The surf is also unpredictable. It's best is to go to some of Kauai's many famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach park is a nearby beach that is good for swimming. SHOULD I GET A CAR? We recommend that you have a rental car. The resort has most everything you need to have a wonderful time and relax. A car will allow you to experience many popular attractions, buying groceries, and going to many amazing restaurants etc. If you want a car for a day or two there is an on-site Hertz car rental agency. The rates are higher but it is an option for a short rental. IS THERE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM THE AIRPORT? No. The shuttle service from the airport is not available to our guests. The resort does offer free shuttle service to/from the airport for guests who book through the resort. Kauai Beach Resort is close the airport which make taxi prices more reasonable. Uber also operates on the island! ARE THERE BEACH TOWELS TO TAKE TO THE BEACH? Your stay includes 4 pool/beach towels. DOES THE RESORT CHARGE A RESORT FEE? Private owner guests are not required to pay the $35 daily resort fee. DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A DAILY PARKING FEE? Yes, if you have a car the resort charges $40 /day for parking. This fee is paid by the guest to the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort at check-in. DO I GET FREE WI-FI INTERNET SERVICE? YES! Wi-Fi is FREE in all the units. Lots of comfortable lounge chairs all around so it’s easy to find a place to relax, enjoy the ocean breeze, and have a bite. Easy beach access, too. Property has some age to it, but it was clean and generally well maintained (did have a sticking door latch that had to be oiled twice to get it to work properly while there over course of 6 days). Would liked to have had a microwave in the room. Loved the view from our 2d story deck (ocean and approximately 5 acre grass area that the local birds used heavily. On site restaurant was pricey and fish and chips was bad, but the bar/food by the pools was good. ##### raymond m. We received a room change that turned everything around!! That view from room 4214 was fantastic!! Communicating with the host was a little tricky for me but got it to work. The furniture on the deck had not been clean for a while. They have a problem with birds, understood that, but we didn’t get to use that area at all. The shower curtain and towels needed to be replaced years ago. The bed and pillows had a bad odor. The de humidifier we had to empty at least three times a day. We were told at check-in that since we didn’t book the unit via the resort (we booked via the owner) that we could not come to them for any type of services. No extra towels, no room cleaning and no maintenance issues. We were told we could pay $??00 for cleaning and $??00 for towel exchange per day. That was on top of the rental cost. The ironing board and iron needs to be replaced. On a good note, the resort itself was nice and well maintained for an older resort. ##### Jimalee F. The resort is clean and has everything needed to relax and stay put as well- several pools, 3 restaurants and sits on miles of walkable beachfront. All of the resort staff was so friendly and helpful. The host was spectacular with timely communication and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We’ll definitely be back! ##### Toni C. The restaurant was convenient. The room was comfortable and quiet. There were elements of the resort that could use attention but overall it was as stated and we had a wonderful time. Being close to the airport at the end of our trip was a great decision and we caught a last minute seat on a helicopter tour that ended up being a top highlight! ##### Amy P. We planned to spend our 25th Anniversary in Maui but after the fires, we changed our trip to Kauai. We absolutely loved the island and the resort this room is located in. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The lanai opens up to nothing but open space and ocean and is very private. You can see and hear the ocean, it’s only a 1-2 minute walk from the room to the beach. The open space outside of the lanai is a grassy field filled with beautiful birds all day with a view of the mountains in the distance. This resort is just far enough away from town to be quiet and feel secluded yet it is still convenient to run to the store in less than 10 minutes. The amenities are wonderful…5 pools, 2 hot tubs and endless waterfalls. One of the on-site restaurants, Shutters Lounge, offered the best food we had during the entire trip. The live music every night was great, too. We cannot wait to come back and stay here again, it was perfect! ##### Ranae H. We really enjoyed the pool and having breakfast at the restaurant. The overall property is dated but charming. The room was as described but a little dated. The TV projector went out around the first day of our 8 day trip and Crystal got a new TV in the room by the next day. She was very responsive and helpful. The multiple spas/pools were amazing making it feel like you had your own. I believe this to be the perfect location for many reasons. We had views of beach from the balcony in our very home feeling room. With our rental car we could go an hour towards Princeville/Napali or an hour towards Poipu Beach/Waimea Canyon. The food is amazing at the resort with wonderful service we ate most breakfasts at the resort restaurant before heading out on adventures for the day. Then coming back to the resort amenities to relax at night. I cannot wait to visit again. Hopefully we will not be in the same circumstances as my husband lost his brother this last month and my 13 year old dog was just euthanized as well just before this trip. This trip has helped our grieving process and have felt love from people we have never met like Crystal. I cannot say enough thanks to them for this amazing stay. ##### Mallorie H. Pools are large and could easily accommodate the guests there without feeling crowded. Great place to stay for a relaxing vacation in the sun, there is an onsite Hertz car rental available if you want to get out and about around Kauai that is very convenient. ##### John H.
