The location is peaceful and pretty, the pool was a welcome retreat in the heat and the house itself was impressive. The air conditioning worked really well, as did all the appliances. While there is a fence or electric fence surrounding the majority of the property, we did not feel it was secure enough to let our dog off-lead as we knew there were areas he could get out or under, but he is a small dog. It got particularly hot while we were there (August - pure sun every day!) and we asked if there were any additional fans, the owner arranged for them to be with us the same day, which was greatly appreciated. Les Eyzies is a lovely small town and the villa is really well situated for exploring the region. During our stay we went on canoe trips down both the Vezere and Dordogne rivers, which we really enjoyed with our teenage sons. My parents also came with us and loved the area and house."
