"The hotel towels were dirty and dingy. The blanks on the bed had hair on and made up in the bed. The carpet was not clean. I think that the only good part about the room that we were in was the hot water."

"Upon checking in, I was charged an early check in fee because I didn't call to say I would be late - though I was driving from NC to GA. The desk clerk was less than cordial - I guess she was having a bad day? My room was on the second floor. The entire hallway smelled of cigarette smoke, despite a signs saying "No Smoking". The room had laminate flooring with gaps in the boards, which I'm guessing was to disguise the fact that people smoked in the hotel. There was no smoke detector in the room only an open connector where either the smoke detector or a light should have been installed. The room was dimly lit. There were lamps but the curtains had to be opened in order to have sufficient light or you had to huddle under a lamp. There was an upback chair which was very soiled. In the bathroom, the only place to hang a towel was on a hook behind the door; at least a towel rack over the toilet would have been acceptable. The thermostat was located on the wall but it moved when adjusting the temperature. I would not recommend this "motel" as a romantic get away; only a place for workers to stop over for a few days."

"We had a wonderful family weekend stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Albany! The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was great. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and the location was very convenient. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again!"

"Overall stay was good but the rooms need extreme upgrades. Walking into the lobby you would think the rooms would be nicer than they are. Tub has permanent dirt rings and in the bottom of the tubs. Shower curtain was dirty. Although it’s a non smoking facility it has an old stale smoke smell in the rooms."

Merry Acres Inn

"The Merry Acres Inn has decent curb appeal and over 100 rooms available. We encountered an extremely difficult door to open. So much so we thought it may have been locked and we had to swipe the card and shoulder the door open. Inside the room appreaerd wiped down clean. We found old pizza from a previous guest in the mini fridge and some stray hairs in the shower. Over all it was not bad just overlooked by the cleaning staff. The second night of our stay however it rained very hard. The bathtub flooded inside with water and water flowed through the bathroom floor making the bathroom unusable. Upon checkout I advised the staff of the issues. An apology was offered."
