About this property
FALL SPECIAL - The water is low, but the cabin is still peaceful & beautiful!
Even though the water is low, you will still be able to allow the stress to roll off your back as you step inside the five-bedroom log cabin nestled in a wooded peaceful cove. You'll be greeted by the warm embrace of the upstairs living area. Indulge in the convenience of a fully furnished kitchen, complete with all the necessary appliances to craft delectable meals. Enjoy your culinary creations at the quaint dining table, surrounded by the comforts of home. When it's time to unwind, sink into the plush seating in the living room and lose yourself in the latest shows on the smart TV OR venture outside and relax in the swing on the back porch.
Just down the covered and enclosed exterior stairs from the back deck (no interior stair access) you will find an additional living space and two of the five bedrooms in the newly finished basement. This is a perfect modern environment to challenge your companions to a lively game or a peaceful jigsaw puzzle. The kitchenette will provide amenities for making snacks with access to a refrigerator and a microwave, in addition to the coffee station.
A fire ring area off the back lower level screened porch is great for making smores or just sharing fireside conversation. We have a supply of bag chairs for your convenience.
Our dock no longer has access to the water with the current drought conditions. If you still want to enjoy the water but do not have a boat yourself, we suggest that you rent a boat from Harbor Light Marina which is about a 15 minute drive from the cabin. Our horseshoe shaped driveway easily accommodates a boat trailer if you want to pull your boat and put in/out at one of the local boat ramps. Kayaks can still be walked out through the dry land leading to the cove if desired. Unfortunately, there won’t be much swimming access at this time.
The swing on the front porch provides an opportunity to hear the cows in the pasture across the street. Sometimes, simply walking to the top of the driveway can provide you an opportunity to enjoy a close up look. The cows are as curious about passersby as we are about them, so enjoy a rare moment!
A short drive will lead you to either Lake Hartwell State Park or Tugaloo State Park. Downtown Lavonia provides charming dining and shopping experiences, as well as a brewery. The Lake Hartwell Wildlife Safari Park is a very entertaining experience where you can feed animals from your vehicle. We STRONGLY encourage you to rent one of their vehicles, as the animals are quite messy!
With amenities like Wi-Fi, a washing machine and dryer (both upstairs and downstairs), and a travel crib, this cabin offers the perfect blend of comfort and convenience, ensuring an unforgettable vacation experience.
There is ample parking for multiple vehicles. Access to the home is given via a unique digital code that expires on your last day, and there are two outdoor cameras to ensure the area is secure.
Located in Lavonia, this cabin is in a rural area and on a lake. Harbor Light Marina and Chickasaw Point Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Tugaloo State Park and Lake Hartwell State Park. Lavonia Cultural Center and Gateway Arts Center are also worth visiting. With kayaking, motor boating, and fishing nearby, you'll find plenty of adventures in the water. House accommodated our large family well, as well as our two dogs. The fenced in yard was nice. Our teenage boys loved the kayaks, and caught a few catfish. The split floor plan didn’t bother us, as our kids are older, so it worked out well. The owners boat was at the dock and The lake water level was extremely low so we couldn’t put our boat and jetskis into the dock. We ended up using tugaloo state park ramp, it was extremely nice. Overall we enjoyed our day at this property.
We had a great stay at the lake! Location was beautiful and nice to have access to the dock and kayaks. Kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed the outside fire ring one evening. Being able to bring our pets was a plus too!
We had a great, short, albeit rainy weekend stay. The house has a well stocked kitchen, lots of seating and pretty much everything we needed for a relaxing time with our family.
We enjoyed a multi-generation family Christmas at this wonderful lakeside home. Best stocked house we've ever stayed in. This house has everything you need for everyone in the family with plenty of room for everyone.
Our family had a wonderful time at this spacious lake house! The kids absolutely loved fishing and jumping off the dock. The house was perfect for our family and provided a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Our boys asked to come back here every year.
Very well equipped with so many activity options, lovely shaded areas and fenced area for our happy puppies. Plenty of parking and easy access. Beds were comfortable and plenty of linens were supplied. Kitchen very well equipped.
The cabin was cozy, beautifully decorated and had every amenity we could want. Our family really enjoyed our stay. My one note is that the basement cannot be accessed from the main living space upstairs. One must go outside, onto the back deck, to take stairs downstairs & then enter into the basement. Although both upper & lower decks are covered & screened in, so this is not an unpleasant setup, this was very complicated for us because we have 4 young children and we could not utilize the bedrooms downstairs unless one adult slept upstairs & another adult slept downstairs. I think parents with young children need to know this detail before deciding to rent the house. This detail was shared with us when check-in information was sent, after we had already booked & paid. Please add this detail to the main information on the listing. It is a beautiful property!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. There were 9 of us, 6 adults, 3 toddlers. There was plenty of space for us all. The home had everything we needed, plus. We really enjoyed the screen house. The dock was put to good use for fishing and parking the rental boat. Fires in the evening were very relaxing .We all agreed we would not hesitate to rent the house again.
The house was a nice size. There was seven in our group and we had plenty of room to relax. The house was clean and well stocked. The host and owner was real good to work with. If I had a question about anything they got right back with me. I had no intention of having any pets but my daughter had a last minute problem with her dog sitter and had to bring them. I contacted them three days before arriving and they got right back with me so I could get everything arranged. The fenced yard was great because we did not have to put them on a leash every time we took them out. Had a lot of fun swimming in the lake and kayaking. The only problem we had was the basement room where my sons slept always had a musky smell. Not a problem for me but most of my family likes going to bed with a tv but there is only one in the living room.
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of ur stay at this beautiful cabin! Our kids loved the dock and fishing and swimming! We loved boating and spending late nights out on the very large screened in and fanned porch! The home was immaculate and the hosts were very sweet! We cannot wait to come back next year!
The house is awesome, and the setting on the lake is beautiful. It is a large house, and I definitely recommend it for bigger groups to maximize the value. Our host was very good at providing the info we needed and responding quickly when we messaged him. We had a little trouble finding it when we arrived in the dark our first night, even with our gps.A couple of minor things; we lost power in much of the downstairs; the breaker box is locked and if one of our party hadn't happened to have a tool to open it we would have had to wait for someone to come. Another concern we experienced was the tap water had a funny taste-.. Water from the frig was fine, though,.(These have been reported to the host.)
