"We were there in May, 2024.
The rooms are a bit old but they're good & have all the basics. They provided a mattress topper on the day we arrived when the bed was too hard. They provided us mosquito spray as the mosquitos are pretty bad given the time of year. They also provided free scooter parking for the scooter we hired.
Would definitely return if staying in Khao Lak again. "

"Our stay The Sands was wonderful. We had high expectations for our long awaited trip to Khao Lak and having already had a week of hectic sightseeing in busy Phuket, we were delighted to arrive to Khao Lak to a relaxing resort but with enough to keep the children entertained. We loved the local area which provided so many options for shopping and eating out. We had a swim up family room which had excellent facilities and was beautifully furnished. I have literally zero complaints! "

"Exceptional and personalised service at a small boutique hotel with only 10 rooms. The large private villa across from The Kitchen is the one to book rather than the oceanfront villas, although the shower and spa tub could use some maintenance. Quiet and relaxing, with a good sized stretch of beach to walk along and swim from. The entire staff go out of their way to meet all your needs and wants; they are attentive and friendly. The star of the place is the chef - all of her Thai dishes are wonderful and her curry sauces are delicious. Each day the chef and manager would go to the pier to pick fish for dinner from the day’s catch - you could request what you’d like, and if the fishermen had it, they’d get it for you and cook it to your request - but it’s best to let the chef cook it how she feels it would be best with whichever curry she recommends. A great value for the amount of privacy, level of service, and quality of food. "
