« Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfy bed and room. Spacious double bed room. Bathroom and toilet recent and clean. Plenty of parking. Breakfast had ample choice between continental and English. »

« When I arrived I was shown to my room by the owner who was very friendly, but as soon as we entered the room she noticed the bathroom was flooded. She explained that one of the staff members had been fiddling with a pressure reducing valve and it must have caused the shower to run with the door open. They cleared the water up, but the carpet was wet through by the bathroom door and the room smelt damp all night. Next morning I went to breakfast an hour before I needed to leave. I waited 45...

« One thing marks down the property. Breakfast was not complete. We went for dinner at the White Hart and they had gluten free cereals. I had to ask for orange juice at breakfast. Also, we came back at 22:50 on a Friday night and asked for a beer. We were refused but another resident was served beer. There doesn’t seem to be consistency on food menus or services across the group pubs. »

« The staff were very helpful and nice, the bed and bedding were decent, as was the breakfast. Unfortunately it's on the main Derby road (A6) in Milford which is a couple of miles away from Belper centre. The room was incredibly hot due to the recent weather (naturally) but the window in room 3 has no means of keeping it open as the window stay bracket has broken. A fan was provided but made little difference. The toilet seat is also broken. »

« A very special place to stay as this was the family home of Florence Nightingale. We stayed in two bedrooms which were the rooms that she grew up in before she went to Crimea. This is not a hotel. It’s more of a guest house with a few of the rooms rented out on a nightly basis. The property is accessed through several gates so it’s on very private land. The views are amazing of the local countryside and there’s a very beautiful garden around the house and sheep in the fields a little further...
