Cafes and a couple of pubs within walking distance. We were worried about parking with it being Easter, but it wasn’t an issue. It was a great place to stay to explore the Peak District. The owners have extensively researched the history which makes interesting reading. Some "essential" supplies were provided, most welcoming. A generous supply of towels, dressing gowns more like a high-class hotel all impressed. The village centre is a few minutes walk down the hill with good pubs for food and ale. Our only reservation was the shower over the tub which was very high to climb into. As a couple in our seventies this was potentially unsafe, we felt.
