The owner would not cancel the booking even though it was explained of the medical emergency and the fact I had no transport to get to the property. Totally not interested and would not even refund half the booking cost as we had booked two nights stay. Shocking treatment from booking, no sympathy for our genuine emergency and was not at all interested in my plight. I would not recommend this place just based on the lack of sympathy shown to a genuine person Only interested in the fact they would lose money. So we paid for absolutely nothing !!!!! We could not even attend the cottage. Could have refunded half to us. Beware when booking this cottage. You will not be able to cancel it under any circumstances what so ever. !!!!! And you will lose your money. The holiday cottage was lovely and cosy the bed was nice and comfortable, it was nice of the owners to be left some eggs, milk, bread and butter for our breakfast. A couple of things I would recommend is instructions how to work the TV, microwave/ oven etc. The cottage was a bit far out for us as we were only visiting Chatsworth House and didn’t realise when we booked it that it was in the middle of nowhere, when we booked we typed in Bakewell, where actually it’s nowhere in Bakewell. Our fault completely as we didn’t do our research beforehand. Thank you to the tourist information centre who gave us directions and bus routes to and from our destination. Plenty of parking. Nice welcome groceries (bread, eggs, butter, jam & milk). Also had most of the subscription TV channels available and excellent wi-fi. Lovely 4 poster bed, all amenities in the kitchen etc. Comfortable stay thank you. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Vicky was always on hand when needed and communication was great - super quick! Loved coming outside to the chickens and seeing the horses when we arrived. Only down side was the no dogs upstairs rule. Some hygiene issues in the kitchen but nothing serious. Area is incredible, very scenic and beautiful. Also very quiet, you can hear a pin drop at night which is restful. The track to the farm is single track and rough in parts, one to note for anyone with a sports car.
