The Lighthouse property includes the wonderful light, connected via the long wooden runway to the property, a lovingly-restored Keeper’s House, as well as welcoming grounds and complimenting gardens. In The Keeper’s House, there is an extensive museum housing exhibits centered on the lighthouse as well as a historic look into the industries and life on our peninsula. As an interesting detail, in the movie “Forest Gump” Tom Hanks concluded his long run on the lighthouse runway. They are present in their main living quarters up a flight of stairs from the living room, but the unit is very private w no crossover. The amenities match their add and are easily accessible, and everything was clean and comfortable. They also leave a sweet little hand written note upon your arrival. We appreciate that it’s pet friendly and the washer/dryer in the basement is accessible. Only problem was, it is not tall friendly. If you are over 5’8” or have a bad back, you will be uncomfortable. My husband and I hit our head several times throughout our stay, throughout the house. Also, it’s bath only, no shower. The house was also not very clean. Logement attenant à la maison entrée autonome. L'appartement est accessible par un escalier privé. Logement parfait pour 1 couple. Très bien aménagé et spacieux . Accès possible a l'extérieur et aucune difficulté pour se garer devant la maison. The place is very spacious, very well equipped, and tastefully decorated. The location provides ready access to the Farnsworth Museum, local galleries and several great restaurants. We came this year for the Lobster Festival which is a 5 minute walk from the unit. It’s the first time we came during a very hot stretch.
