Stratford Inn

"I booked this hotel largely because the cleanliness rating was 9.4, so unfortunately I was disappointed that the actual cleanliness did not live up to those expectations. The floors were quite dirty, with noticeable debris buildup in the corners. The sheets, comforter, and mattress pad were also stained, worn, and in some areas starting to tear. These are things I would expect to be addressed, especially given the hotel’s high cleanliness rating. That said, one of the biggest positives was the lovely woman working the breakfast area. She was genuinely one of the sweetest people I’ve encountered during a hotel stay. She was incredibly warm and attentive, asked guests about their stays, and remembered people as they came back for breakfast. You could tell her kindness was completely genuine. She truly was a gem and made the breakfast experience feel special. Overall, I think the hotel has some room for improvement when it comes to housekeeping and the condition of the bedding, but the wonderful woman working breakfast was an absolute bright spot during our stay."

"Nice room, very clean and updated. It didn’t feel old like a lot of hotels do. It is kind of hokey that the breakfast is $5 instead of included in the room rate. Check in was slow because the staff has so much to tell the customers so it adds up when multiple are checking in and there is a line. But I would definitely go back."

"We had a lovely stay. Our room was spacious, but a little worn. It was clean enough, but not spotless. A very friendly and helpful staff and really excellent food in the restaurant. The price is good and the location is beautiful. We stayed there for our trip to see the OSF festival as the prices now is Ashland are very high. Thank you"

"Super convenient place for our needs. Our rooms were ready early, we appreciated that. Rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel is close to a couple of restaurants and located right off the highway. We took advantage of the free breakfast and it was just what we needed. Thank you for a lovely stay."

"The property is well-located for those attending OSF plays and wanting a variety of nearby dining options. Our room and bathroom were both very clean, and the beds comfortable. The bathroom, however, “showed its age” a bit, with lack of a little more counter space being a problem for 2 female guests with makeup bags and hair needs, and a rather unsightly crack in the sink. The pool and hot tub were great! All staff we interacted with, from front office each day to cleaners, were pleasant and helpful. Would stay there again, but probably book one of the more expensive rooms in the Bard’s Inn “Sonnet” property across the street."
