This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The home was absolutely beautiful — spacious, clean, and perfectly suited for our family of five. It had everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed.One of the highlights was the private beach access, just a short and easy walk from the house. It made our beach days so convenient, especially with kids in tow. Speaking of the kids, they had a blast exploring the area — they loved being able to walk to nearby restaurants and coffee shops.A special shoutout to the owner, who was incredibly gracious and even opened the pool and hot tub early just for our spring break stay. The house is newly renovated, super clean & had all of the little extras that we appreciated for an easy stay: phone chargers, fully stocked kitchen, laundry detergent, you name it! The location was ideal! Walk into Duck, or to the beach! And, the saltwater pool…what a bonus!! LeAnne was super communicative & accommodating! If you are looking for a smaller beach house in Duck with a fantastic location, I highly recommend this property! ##### Laura F.
