Tucked into the quiet Carolina Dunes community in Duck, Mess’n Around is a 4-bedroom, 2.5-bath oceanside retreat made for slow mornings, salty air, and easy coastal living. This is the kind of place where shoes come off at the door, mornings start with coffee and sea breezes, and every day ends with a sunset worth remembering. Wake up early and head just 1,039 feet to the beach for sunrise over the Atlantic, where the sky glows soft pink and gold and the only sounds are waves and seabirds. Spend your afternoons floating in the private pool, approximately 12’ x 25’, letting the kids splash while you relax nearby with a book and cold drink in hand. As the day winds down, head up to the rooftop deck for sweeping sunset views over the sound, or settle into the screened-in porch and watch the colors fade from the sky. The home itself is bright, comfortable, and thoughtfully updated, featuring refreshed bathrooms, luxury vinyl plank flooring, granite countertops, and updated furniture and décor that feels easy and coastal without trying too hard. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
