  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. This home was clean, spacious, and waking distance to the beach, shopping, restaurants and boardwalk. The pool and hot tub were a great place to end the day after the beach. The kitchen was well stocked with non food essentials. The beds were comfortable, and the home offered many options for entertainment. I would 100% rent this home again.

Great for team building

The stay was great. Many people were seeing the Atlantic ocean for the first time. House is a close walk. Amenities were great for entertainment. We didn't have TP when we arrived but it was quickly remedied.

Mirth of Mist was an excellent home for my family/friends vacation

All the fun vacation amenities, pool, hot tub, pool table, air hockey, board games and plenty of room on each floor for watching movies and playing games.

Safety concerns

Very disappointing we had several safety concerns and issues with the property when I reached out via email I never heard anything from the rental company. I managed to wrangle a staff member while he was dropping off linen to express my concern he answered me somebody would contact me never heard anything! We were traveling with small children the safety of our family was number one priority but it’s in the property managers couldn’t be bothered church so much is return a phone call or email. Very disappointing.
