After all these years together coming up with a gift idea was difficult. So I decided that a beach vacation in the summer would be the big surprise. I had tee shirts designed, Duck July 4th, for everyone. It was a happy group when everyone opened their gift. We had been getting together for a summer week at various beaches for years and years. I made one mistake this year and that was not checking on the location of the house and beach access. While the house was well received, not being able to access the beach was not. Having to drive down to Kitty Hawk made what used to be a beach vacation a pool at home vacation. I will never make that mistake again. ##### Michael S. Further drive to the beach Overall the property was nice. The cleanliness could have been better; we found some areas that were not cleaned. The property is older. The upper deck showed wear. One of the planks needed to be boarded down, was a safety issue. The pool had a broken pipe under the water near the deeper end that was sharp and cut our feet. That should be addressed. However, the pool was well maintained by the pool guy daily. There was construction across the street where the workers played music at 7 30am.
