"Quaint hotel/guest house in the midst of nature."
This is a great little hotel (but really more of a guest house). I give the overall rating a 4 out of 5. I want to be clear I am not using a star rating like you might assign to the Intercontinental or Hyatt Regency, but more of a 4 out of 5 experience. I believe that when you travel you need to connect with your surroundings. This hotel is located at 5,000 feet above sea level in the mountains of Jamaica. It's a lush setting and a different environment than most travelers on this site will ever experience. The staff is excellent. Tanya and her team do a great job of making you feel at home. The chef is very accommodating with providing meals each day. The grounds are beautiful. I've been coming to this part of Jamaica for years and this a great trip and can thank the hosts for helping to contribute to my stay. 2 night stay is probably all the typical traveler needs before experiencing another location on the island.

"Our stay at Rafjam Bed and Breakfast"
First understand this. Rafjam Bed & Breakfast consists of two separate locations. Firstly, there is the retreat up in the Hills near Irish Town. We quickly named this our "Garden of Eden!" If you are looking for total peace and tranquility, look no further. Then there is their location down in the city, in an area called New Kingston. This location would more suite someone who wanted to explore the city of Kingston, for example. Whether up in the hills,or down in the city, the staff are patient, friendly and knowledgeable. At your request, they can put bespoke excursion packages together. The Rafjam team put one together for us. We traveled up into the Parish of Portland, through the town of Port Antonio. We went sailing on the Blue Lagoon and swimming at Frenchmans Cove. To the west of Port Antonio is the legendary Rio Grande river, where we went rafting! That particular day was a holiday in itself !

"Nice hotel "
It's a nice local hotel. The pool and jacuzzi are well kept, the rooms could be nicer though. Most of the staff was professional and courteous. This hotel gives you a nice local experience.

"Amazing views but impersonal hotel"
Strawberry Hills is in a stunning location that will take your breath away. The bed is one of the comfiest we've slept in and the pool is spectacular. The food is good but breakfast was rather sugar heavy. When we asked to switch cake (which comes with the standard breakfast included in the room rate) for eggs or a Jamaican breakfast this wasn't possible without paying for a new breakfast in full. We were also celebrating a 30th birthday and got engaged the day before we arrived. We mentioned this to the hotel but received no token of congratulations for this at all. Not even a note! We found this quite astonishing for what is meant to be a five star experience. Overall, Strawberry Hills is wonderful for one night but given the price, we would recommend staying elsewhere after that. There's so much to do in Kingston that it's definitely fun to spend some time down in the action after you've absorbed the views.
