This second floor oceanfront condo at the Kihei Surfside Resort is located on the sought after ocean side of the elevator, and in the coveted "2 stack", which are the closest to the ocean one bedroom condos in all of Kihei or Wailea. It has a spectacular view from the kitchen, living room, dining area and lanai. It is one of the larger, 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath units (680 sq ft). The view of the ocean and its abundant wildlife is absolutely breathtaking. Considering its high level of finishing and location, this is undoubtedly one of the finest one bedroom, 1.5 bath units in the building. The entire unit has porcelain flooring. All the cabinetry was custom made and imported from Canada. It is cherry stained maple, and all counters and vanities are topped with a very unique, light colored granite. Most of the lighting is controlled by dimmer switches. The oversized gourmet kitchen is spectacular! It is fully equipped with stainless steel Professional Series appliances, including side by side fridge/freezer with water and ice, flat top stove with five burners and warming drawer, quiet dishwasher, multi-function microwave oven, garbage disposer and a variety of small appliances including coffee maker, coffee grinder, four slice toaster, blender, crock pot, rice maker and hand mixer. There is also a large selection of higher end pots and pans, baking pans, high quality knife set, spice rack and ample matching dishes, glasses and cutlery. The corner sink design allows for maximum efficiency and working space. The island has a six foot eating ledge with three barstools. The living room has a queen size sofa-bed with matching large comfy armchair with ottoman. There is also a large 55" flat screen LCD HD color TV with an HD cable box c/w DVR and DVD player, and of course, a multi speed ceiling fan. The dining area has an oversized round rattan glass table with 4 matching tropical pattern armchairs. The large, private lanai has a glass bistro table with two heavily padded swivel rocker chairs - a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or a romantic oceanfront dinner! The entry has a large built in, granite topped buffet with cabinets and a full set of dresser drawers, and a desk area. The bedroom has a high quality pillow top King size bed, high quality bedding, multi speed ceiling fan, Hawaiian style rattan furniture, plantation shutters, oversized closet, digital security safe, telephone and a wall mounted 32" flat screen LCD TV. The master bathroom has a full size, walk in shower with a Pulse shower spa system, including rain head, hand held wand/massager and six body sprays. There is an over height vanity with granite countertop. The matching half bath has been finished to the same high standard. Both bathrooms have Kohler toilets. This condo is fully equipped with fresh linens and towels, hair dryer, iron/ironing board. All units have beach towels and a cooler. Umbrellas and snorkel gear are not supplied, but are often left behind in the units by other guests – no guarantees. The Kihei Surfside office loans out beach chairs free of charge during regular business hours - Monday to Saturday. Office is closed Sundays and Holidays. The unit has free, wireless high speed internet and free long distance calling to the United States and Canada. It is also equipped with a state of the art Oracode door lock, whereby each guest is issued a unique code which controls the door only during their stay. No keys! This unit is an excellent choice for guests who are looking for the best accommodation the Kihei Surfside has to offer; a spacious, comfortable high end oceanfront condo with a spectacular location and view of the Pacific Ocean and the West Maui mountains. The Kihei Surfside Resort is located at 2936 S. Kihei Road, South Kihei at the entrance of beautiful Wailea. This is the desert part of Maui, where the sun shines more than any other part of the island. The Kihei Surfside Resort consists of an absolute oceanfront concrete building of 6 floors and 84 deluxe units with an elevator. The building underwent an extensive makeover during the summer of 2015, it was closed for six months. Each unit received new windows, doors and railings, and the building itself had a complete concrete restoration and paint. There is free parking on site. The resort is a twenty-five minute drive from the Kahului Airport (OGG). Rental cars are available at the airport or in Kihei town. There are also taxis available at the airport (about $50), a shuttle bus and public transportation. Virtually all of the properties and resorts in Kihei are either located right on busy S. Kihei Rd., or if they are set back from the road - are across from the street from the ocean. One unique feature of the Kihei Surfside is that it is located at the quiet end of S. Kihei Road, AND is set back 300 feet from S. Kihei Road AND is located right on the ocean! Because it is hard to see from the road, many first time Surfside guests say that even though they have visited Kihei many times, they had never seen the resort! Another unique feature of the property is that we have a 2 acre, immaculately kept oceanfront lawn area with dozens of loungers, with a heated swimming pool and deluxe barbeque facilities. In season, there are daily whale sightings from both the grounds and lanais. In fact, the Pacific Whale Foundation conducts their annual whale count from our property. The building is located at the north end of Keawakapu Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on Maui (voted Maui's most romantic), where you can walk for miles past some of the most expensive oceanfront homes on the island and the luxurious hotels of Wailea. We personally own several units in the Kihei Surfside building, and also own units in Lake Country, British Columbia. The location was amazing. Sooo close to the ocean but no one laying on a beach right under your lanai. The views and sunsets were spectacular! Yet….you walked only steps to one of the longest beautiful beaches on west Maui. Can’t say enough about that. Also the pool was so clean and lovely so close to the ocean as well. The unit was clean and had everything we needed down to very plush beach towels. We used the laundry facilities and they were open and airy and clean as well. There was a nice welcome note and snacks when we arrived which was nice. Everything was clean, and the view was amazing! The condo is very well located to make getting wherever you need to go easy, and the adjacent beach is the best in Maui. My wife and I traveled most of the island and the beach that was walking distance to the property ranks as the best in my opinion. Be aware, Kihei is a "Sun up, to sun down" town so don't expect much life after 9pm. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area and hope to stay there again some day. ##### Anthony M. This is one of the best. There is no air conditioning but I never use it anyway as it is usually quite windy on Maui and the breeze is lovely. Pros: The bed is comfortable, the unit is well stocked with bath towels and kitchen supplies. The views are gorgeous and it is a short walk to the beach. The communal barbecues looked nice but I didnʻt use them. There is a restaurant and a convenience store at the property next door. Cons: Parking is a little tight so it can be hard to find a spot. The pool is small and there is no jacuzzi but I wasnʻt really there with time to use it anyway. There is laundry in the building but it would be nicer if they were in the unit like some other places I have stayed. Finally - I got an email threatening immediate eviction for smoking on property. Views are great. Each unit has a lanai. Unit 202 was perfectly adequate for our needs. There were no personal touches that have been provided at other Kihei Surfside rentals we’ve stayed at, such as notes about where to find things or how to use items in the condo. No welcome basket full of goodies. Everything was in working order. There was just enough towels, soap and TP, etc. Best to LABEL the pre-proportioned dish? laundry? detergents under the sink. Had no idea which was for what. The yoga mat was great but the snorkel masks leaked, so better to rent your own. There were no beach chairs but you can use the loungers that are on the lawn and Mana Kai next door can rent you everything you need. It was very quiet until the final night when the condo next door had a loud party (2/6) that went well into the night and is against the rules. They even left their front door wide open despite loud music and laughing. Not our condo owner’s fault of course and usually KS is a quiet building. ##### Lisa A. Wonderful property and very beautiful unit. Everything inside is new. The view from the unit is amazing! The only thing is the unit doesn't have air conditioning (only ceiling fans). For me sometimes it was a little too hot inside. The property is located right on a very nice beach (sandy beach plus snorkeling portion). Very close (5 min drive) to nice restaurants in Wailea. We listened to the waves all day and all night and enjoyed walking around the condo grounds. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bed was comfortable, and it was great having a second bathroom. Beautiful views, lovely grounds, nice ocean side pool, & a lovely beach a short walk away with excellent swimming & snorkeling & taking long walks. The condo was very clean, modern, and very nicely decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking! We will definitely rent this unit again. The condo was amazing - it made our stay in Maui to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary memorable. The condo exceeded our expectations with all the amenities and knickknacks provided from the general comfortable accommodations to the snorkel gear to the kitchen details of grocery bags and condiments, to the ease of checking in and out, and of course the great location with the lanai right off the water.
