"Came in the off season, and it was a complete bait and switch. Actual hotel was closed (including pool and restaurant (so no breakfast)). Placed us next door in tiny apartments. Manager gave us the key and left the property. First room had a broken toilet seat so moved us to another one. Staff spoke no English and didn’t understand that we need password for WiFi. Blanket on bed was wet. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but left the next morning."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Khondros?
The best area to stay in Khondros is the central village area, particularly around the Plateia (main square) and the streets immediately surrounding it.

This area is the heart of Khondros and offers the most convenience for travellers. It's where you'll find the local tavernas, a few small shops, and the most activity. The Plateia itself is a welcoming space, often with locals enjoying coffee or a meal, and it serves as a natural gathering point. The streets here are narrow and traditional, giving you a real sense of village life.

For couples looking for a relaxed, authentic Greek experience, staying in the central village is ideal. You'll be within easy walking distance of traditional eateries where you can enjoy local cuisine and wine. It's a great base for exploring the village on foot and experiencing the local rhythm.

Solo travellers will also find the central village a good fit. It provides opportunities to interact with locals and other visitors, especially in the evenings around the Plateia.
When is the best time to go to Khondros?
The best time to visit Khondros is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and October.

These months offer pleasant weather conditions, with warm temperatures ideal for exploring the Cretan countryside and enjoying the outdoors without the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer months. You'll find it easier to enjoy the hiking trails, visit local villages, and relax in comfort.

For those prioritising outdoor activities such as hiking or cycling, May and October are particularly good. The temperatures are milder, and the natural landscape is at its most vibrant, making for more enjoyable excursions.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Khondros.
How much is the nightly rate at a Khondros hotel?
Prices for hotels in Khondros often vary, but you can find a great deal from CA $64 on Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
