The Bookhouse House Hotel was our absolute favorite place we stayed all year. Room was clean and neat. Food and drinks within a block away. Check-in was easy and convenient. Owners and operators are great, helpful and very nice. Will absolutely be staying and going back this spring. What an amazing experience.

We enjoyed the property and location. The inn is a bit quirky and the interior stairs could be challenging for some but it worked for us. The moody paint and bathroom both charming. Wish we had stayed longer so I could have finished the book of essays that I started.
My daughter and I love to read and The Bookhouse Hotel is our dream come true! The room is amazing and you can see the effort the owners put in to make it cozy and comfortable. Plus as an added bonus there are lots of restaurants and shops just a block away. We are already planning our return trip.
Kennett has gained a wonderful, unique boutique hotel right in the heart of town. I remember when this building was an antique map and book shop. The charming building has been completely renovated into lovely rooms with everything you’d need to be comfortable. We will be back!
This hotel is AMAZING. I wanted to take a picture of every little detail. It is not only gorgeous but in a great location too. Owner wrote right back to emails and was super friendly. I cannot wait to go back!

The room was very clean and cute. The bed was very comfortable! ( Probably the nicest of any) The room was located walkable to restuarants, shops,Talulas Table and bars. The only negative is that we did not sleep well because the room is on the corner of a busy street with cars and tractor trailers about 10 feet away. You can definitely hear the noise of the engines inside the room. My suggestion would be to upgrade the window or soundproof somehow because it impacts your stay.
The Bookhouse Hotel was lovely. We had instructions prior to coming about the hotel and full support while there. Our room was spotless, spacious, and comfortable.
We had our own private entrance which was great and parking available.
Location was convenient to every in town.
Totally satisfied and would highly recommend this place!!
This was a very unique property, with lots of character. Even though the staff was not on site, they kept in good communication with us. The extra space and privacy was nice. My only suggestion would be to have paper towels and/or a kitchen towel in the kitchenette area.
I hate not being able to leave a glowing review. Conceptually this hotel seemed like a perfect getaway. Unfortunately, our experience was not what we had hoped for. We were the unfortunate patrons who didn’t get a parking spot once we arrived (it’s first come first serve) and lugging all of our luggage across the street was less than ideal. And the location was in a very high traffic area—it was so loud from about 4 a.m. until midnight each day. I do want to say, the room was so spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. And having a kitchenette was a nice touch. But, our second night there we had an issue with two spiders and a beetle in our room. And we had a window that faced a shared front patio, and the blinds didn’t fully cover the window, so we had to configure a blanket to cover it so we had some privacy. I know most of these issues seem minor. But when we paid $300/night, I guess we had expected a little better experience. Self check in was super smooth and the owners were very quick to respond to our questions. But sadly, we would not stay here again.
We loved our stay at the book House Hotel. Truly wonderful. A great getaway.

Super magical place. Loved the idea and execution of books everywhere. It was like sleeping in a library. Wish I had an extra day just to be lazy around the room and read. Super well maintained. Super classy.
Would have given it a 5 but the street noise is so loud that not even the ear plugs that were provided by the hotel could drown out the noise. Didn’t sleep all night.
Amazing stay, the setup was awesome. My only issue is that it’s right up against the road and there’s no real soundproofing so you hear all the cars/trucks drive by and it’s a very busy street. I wish they had mentioned in the check in messages to bring ear plugs or headphones. Otherwise I cannot recommend this place enough!
This boutique hotel was all I was hoping for. Its quaint, quirky and filled with charm. The owners really know their vision and made it happen. Super comfortable beds with fluffy pillows and heavenly comforters. Books everywhere. Location was perfect as its within walking distance to anything you need or want. Owners were very nice and helpful. They can get or find you whatever you need. Kcups and tea with sugar, and creamers are included. The little box of shampoo and soap and conditioners was perfect. The only downside to this hotel is the noise. It is located at a very busy intersection with a stop light. They do provide ear plugs and white noise machines to help with that. 3 off street parking spots. No staff on site but easily reachable via phone and text. Stayed in the Secret Garden Suite with a friend. The stairs are narrow and windey but handrails help you get up them! If you cant do stairs then dont reserve this this room.
