Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kazuma Forest Reserve?
The best area to stay in Kazuma Forest Reserve is generally within the reserve itself, particularly in the vicinity of the main waterholes or along the Chobe Enclave boundary.

This area is characterised by its proximity to wildlife, offering a true safari experience. Lodges and camps are typically spread out, providing a sense of seclusion and direct access to game viewing opportunities. The general layout focuses on blending into the natural environment, with accommodations often overlooking wildlife pathways or water sources.

Couples looking for a romantic and exclusive getaway will find staying within the reserve ideal. The lodges here often offer private game drives, guided bush walks, and sundowner experiences, allowing for intimate wildlife encounters away from larger crowds. The focus on privacy and high-quality service enhances the romantic aspect.

For travellers seeking a genuine wildlife-focused adventure, staying inside the reserve is paramount.
When is the best time to go to Kazuma Forest Reserve?
The best time to visit Kazuma Forest Reserve is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, the weather is generally sunny and dry, with cooler mornings and evenings. This makes for very comfortable conditions for wildlife viewing and outdoor activities. The lower water levels mean animals congregate around the remaining water sources, making them easier to spot. For those who appreciate comfortable weather and prime wildlife viewing, this is the ideal window.

The wet season, from November to April, brings lush landscapes and migratory birds, but also higher temperatures and humidity, along with more challenging road conditions.
