Booked ‘private bathroom’ with room, turns out that bathroom was on a different floor and was a communal bathroom. Showed owner the email from Hotels.com confirming this and he just laughed; stated it was ‘incorrect’ and offered us an ‘upgrade’ for double what we had paid for. Ended up leaving the hotel in absolute disgust. They were very accommodating when we asked for breakfast at a different time due to leaving early for the airport, and bringing tea to our room when we didn't feel well etc. The room was lovely, clean, big and with big windows. The bathroom is on the balcony and you have to walk through it to get to the actual balcony, which is a bit odd. But we didn't use it as weather was bad. My itinerary changed so my 3-night stay was reduced to only 1 but I wish I could have stayed longer. I could imagine parking myself here for an extended time. If you'd rather be trekking, this is a good place to make arrangements. Staff is very lovely and helpful. My favorite- you can walk to the Boudnath Stupa down the same narrow street that the locals and monks use. Takes only 5-10 min.
