This central stretch of the village offers convenient access to local eateries, small shops, and the river itself, which is a focal point for the community. You'll find most of the available accommodation options here, ranging from guesthouses to homestays, often with views of the river or surrounding greenery.

For couples looking for a relaxed retreat, staying close to the river provides a peaceful setting. You can enjoy quiet strolls along its banks, observe local life, and easily access nearby natural attractions like the Sungai Timah Waterfall, which is a short drive away. Many accommodations in this area offer private balconies or patios, superb for enjoying the serene environment.

Families will find this area practical due to its proximity to local services and the natural environment. Children can enjoy playing by the river (with supervision, of course), and the ease of getting to local food stalls means meals are simple.

The best time to go to Kampung Sungai Timah is generally during the dry season, which runs from March to October.

During these months, you'll experience sunny days and calmer seas, making it ideal for water activities like snorkelling, diving, and island hopping. The weather is consistently pleasant, allowing for comfortable exploration of the village and its surrounding natural beauty. This period is great for couples and families looking to enjoy the beaches and outdoor excursions without the disruption of heavy rainfall.

The wet season, from November to February, brings the monsoon with stronger winds and heavier rain, which can lead to rough seas and limited access to some islands. While some budget travellers might find lower prices during this time, many resorts and boat operators scale back their services or close entirely.
