"One of the best family and regional small hotel we have visited in 20 years in Crete. They really are very small hotel, familial style but they do their best to provide high level services: multiple pool, breakfast, sun towels. Amazing quality for price. The only con of this hotel, despite what is written on Hotels.com, it's very remote in the moutain and far from Paleochora, so I recommend if you need to rest 2-3 days in a super...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kamara Kalidonias?
The best area to stay in Kamara Kalidonias for a blend of convenience and relaxed coastal living is the main village area, particularly along the beachfront and the streets immediately behind it.

This central part of Kamara Kalidonias is where you'll find the majority of its amenities. The main street, which runs parallel to the beach, is lined with tavernas, cafes, and a few local shops. The beach itself is a focal point, offering direct access to the clear waters of the Aegean Sea. Everything is within easy walking distance, making it very convenient for daily activities.

Couples looking for a relaxing holiday will find this area particularly appealing. You can enjoy leisurely mornings with breakfast overlooking the sea, spend your days on the beach, and have a wide choice of restaurants for dinner without needing to travel far. The general atmosphere is calm and pleasant, superb for unwinding.

Families also benefit greatly from staying in this central area. The proximity to the beach means easy access for children, and many of the tavernas are family-friendly.
When is the best time to go to Kamara Kalidonias?
The best time to go to Kamara Kalidonias is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from late April to early June and again from September to October.

These months offer pleasant weather with warm temperatures that are ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty and historical sites without the peak summer crowds. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the landscape is particularly lush in spring and early autumn. This period is great for those who appreciate good value, as accommodation and flight prices are often more favourable than in July and August.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find these times especially appealing. The beaches are less crowded, making for a more intimate experience, and dining at local tavernas feels more authentic without the summer rush. You can enjoy strolls through olive groves or along the coast in comfortable temperatures.

Families travelling with younger children might also prefer the shoulder seasons. The milder temperatures are more comfortable for little ones, and popular attractions are less busy, leading to a more stress-free visit.
