Noel is run down and the furniture was inadequate. There was little or no place to put your belongings. No cheat or dresser. I would not stay there again.
I stay in motel rooms about a hundred nights a year, almost entirely at my own expense, so I try to keep my cost down to around $50 and am not picky at all. In fact, I have seldom written a negative review of a motel, but I will in this case!
My wife and I visit our son in Battle Creek every summer for a few days. This year we chose America's Best Value because it [allegedly] has a swimming pool and is close to our son's apartment.
I will first list the things I liked about it (it's a short list):
(1) the lighting in the bathroom was very good
(2) the location was very convenient for restaurants, shopping, movies, and (as I've mentioned) our son's residence
So much for the positives.
Now for the negatives:
(1) The swimming pool was under renovation, though it is still pictured on the website
(2) The outside looks quite rundown
(3) The inside of the room was *very* basic, including few surfaces to put things on
(4) No nightstand on one side of the bed
(5) The shallowest motel desk I've ever seen
(6) Poor Wi-fi
(7) Few TV channels and lousy reception
(8) No breakfast
(9) No maid service during our three-day stay!
(10) Many undesirable residents, seemingly long-term, partying and making noise late at night
This place would have been marginally worth staying at for $40 a night (like Rodeway Inn across the road) but at $59 it is a rip-off. We will not stay here again.
The property was undergoing renovations. I was notified the week before arrival, which was too late to change accomodations. First room had bed bugs. Second room had major issues with bedding. They attempted to change first room with another, bed was disgusting to say the least. Ended up substituting first room with two newly renovated rooms. Finally settled into the newly renovated room, found dirty towel and washrag behind door in bathroom of one of those rooms. Most disturbing weekend ever. Rooms were not cleaned/beds made during stay. Staff was pleasant and he was disgusted when we took him to see rooms he was putting us in.
First room we checked into was very disgusting and no toilet paper bugs on bathroom floor tub was covered in cigeratte burns, second room he put us in after we complained had a broken uncomfortable bed lights flickering and smoke detector beeping and more cigarette burns on tub and sink and not very clean.
This hotel was okay . Room was clean and nice tub . Had a Hotub but weren't told at check in so since it was by an employee only sign I assumed it was private . I didn't like the upstairs room and no elavator.hotel was quiet and didn't bother us . The heat needed some instructions. Didn't go to breakfast because it was only waffles

The room had bed bugs, im actively trying to get a refund.
The condition of the room was poor. And the towels that were left to be used were gross. They were like sandpaper and all stained up. And there was puke outside the rooms by the walkway. It was huge amounts. Just gross. Not a friendly atmosphere as you check in either.

Close to the highway
Very cold room... heater didn't work
No controller for the tv
Blanket was so thin i would have frozen to death if I didn't have my sleeping bag
Good shower pressure though
You pay cheap, you get cheap. Mildew showers, no cold water. Dirty sinks, everything needs fixed and repainted.. Drug deals outside in the middle of the night, smells like cigarette smoke and pot daily.
Uhhhh, wow, this was terrible. In fact I didn't stay here and simply moved up the street without asking for a refund. I would have paid double in order to NOT stay here.
Ordered a non-smoking room but got a smoking room. They said that Hotels.com had not informed them of the non-smoking request but we do not believe this. We were offered a refund, but that would have left us without a room for the night. Carpet was dirty. Bathtub had cigarette burns and was to filthy to risk a shower. Refrigerator was so loud that we had to turn it off and let our food spoil. Some of the guests appeared to be vagrants.
We requested a 1st floor room as my husband 87 and myself 79 with a bad foot have problems with
stairs. The clerk just didn't seem to care when I told him we needed a room on the 1st floor. I can't
believe that all first floor rooms were full on a Monday. He did not really say they were. It seemed as
though there were a lot of people living there and not just staying there as guests.
The room we stayed in was a non-smoking room, but it smelled smokey. When we checked out and
told the clerk this, he just shrugged his shoulders.
The hotel was terrible. The bathroom was filthy, there were cigarette Burns on the bedspread. The smell in the room was terrible. We got what we paid for. I wish we had thought to take pictures.
Room was cheap, bed wasn't comfortable, . our room was rate next to highway shoo was loud.... Old tube tv in room,, no phone, water shower didn't work right..
Upon arival I just wanted to shower after a long day of work. No hot water. Let it ran, still no hot water. So instead of a shower, I discovered only the sink had hot water so I filled up a million ice buckets full of sink water and then took a bath in the nasty tub. Black mold around the trim, hairs all over the tub, walls look like they had NEVER been wiped down. They had solid drips of yellow tinted something all over them. Mini fridge was disgusting inside. When we got our room keys, we walked up with all of our luggage just to have neither of them work. So we go all the way back downstairs to get them reactivated. We left to go get food, came back and they were disabled again! Seriously. And no they weren't by any electronics or magnets. At night around 11, the neighbors were yelling and fighting about drugs! And yes it was clear they were saying they walls are paper thin. Kids running up and down the halls and the parents also up yelling and laughing and having a good ol time at 2:30 in the morning. It's a Thursday night. GO TO BED!! Some random person came up beating on our door and I answered and she asked if someone was there (obviously not because she had the wrong room) and said she was just needing her drugs. And just the area in general is not safe and very sketchy. Theres $40 and a sleepless night I'm never getting back. And it's not even like the hotel was full so I'm not sure why they put people in rooms right next to each other instead of spreading them out!
Went to this hotel with my confrontation number, the middle aged man, i think his name was john, was enraged from the start and told me there was no rooms under my name, i got fed up with him yelling and ranting for no reason. It got to the point i had to yell "settle down" to him. He then threatened to call the police. Now im a 5 year honerable discharged veteran of the marines and also a registered CPL holder (which I'm glad i didn't have to use this night) they still charged me $44 and i never stayed there. I went across the street to another hotel where the lady was very nice and even mentioned this john guy having anger issues. I would like a full reimbursement of my money, it was not fair to me, nor my partner in the way this man acted above treated us.

Exactly waht I wanted
All I wanted was a inexpensive place to stay while on my journey. One of my favorite on the raod restaurants was across the parking lot - Crakerbarrell
