More about our complex - Located on world-famous Ali'i Drive the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club is a four star, gated complex just three minutes drive from groceries, shops, theater, and one of the most popular snorkeling beaches in Hawaii - Kahaluu State Park (also known as Turtle Beach). Additionally, the Kona Country Club golf course is located immediately next to the Surf and Racquet Club. There's even a FREE shuttle to get to and from town or the nearby shopping center - this shuttle stops about 400 yards from our entry gate. It’s called the Honu Express! More about the unit - This unit sleeps four. The master bedroom includes a king bed, stand-a-lone air conditioning unit, dresser, desk, TV, DVD player, clock radio, phone, ocean views, ceiling and pedestal fan AND a walk in closet. The second bedroom includes twin beds, stand-a-lone air conditioning unit, dresser, large closet, ceiling and pedestal fan and slight ocean view. Really, come let the waves lull you to sleep at night - it's wonderful. The unit was completely remodeled in 2006 with brand new everything: furniture, appliances and other amenities. And it had brand new beautiful new white tile flooring and fresh paint throughout. (It’s continued to be maintained by new owner and local contact to perfection!) Beach Supplies - We have beach towels, chairs, boogie, cooler and even toys for the kids - just ask when you make reservation. The location of condo and subsequent remodel was done with both our guests and our personal visits in mind. We wanted a place that we would LOVE on our return every year and it had to be in a GREAT location. We also made sure that it was furnished and decorated to accomodate all guests in comfort. After staying here you'll never want to stay in a hotel on vacation again! In addition to all the other fun stuff our condo is a centrally located for visiting the Kona coffee plantations in nearby Holualoa, traveling to Volcanoes National Park, experiencing boating excursions off the Kailua-Kona pier, shopping at outdoor markets or taking a tour to the top of Mauna Kea and visiting the observatory. And it's only 3 minutes drive to Kahaluu State Park (aptly known as Turtle Beach) where you can snorkel and swim with the turtles and beautiful tropical fish. Great location on the ocean and a beautiful, well maintained complex overall. Convenient to a large shopping complex with KTA Supermarket, Longs Drugs and several restaurants with a variety of offerings. Not being in the middle of Ali'i Drive tourist district was a nice advantage as it is a relatively quiet area but just a short drive to the main area. The pool was amazing and we had good sunset views over the Pacific Ocean just steps from our back porch. It was not right in the main part of Kona, but about a 10-15 minute drive. No air-conditioning unless you pay more, which we decided not to do since it would only affect the master bedroom. Enjoyed eating meals on the lanai or by the pool. Communication from the beginning was thorough, timely, and friendly. Our host went out of her way to accommodate our check-in, making our vacation smooth and easy right from the beginning. We loved the location of the unit - literally steps from the pool and tennis courts! The pool was big and deep, which can be hard to find in Kona. The tennis courts were very well maintained and the resident professional provided lessons/drills and even found a couple of others for us to play with! A full grocery store and drug store are very close, along with several restaurants, shops (and shave ice!), which was super convenient for last-minute needed items or a meal out. The unit was comfortable, and had everything we needed including ice chests, beach chairs, umbrellas, lots of pots and pans/dishes/glasswear, and even basic spices. There was extra dishwasher pods, laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, so we didn't have to rush out and buy more right away. The unit was very quiet - being on the end we didn't hear neighbors at all, just the chirping of birds and the crashing of waves from the beach just feet from the patio. Le condo est bien aménagé, toutefois les enfants ont eu très très chaud dans leur chambre, car l'air climatisé ne fonctionnait pas de façon optimale. Le frigo contenait des bouteilles de vinaigrette, sauces et autres condiments appartenant, sans doute, à d'anciens locataires. Nous avons trouvé cela un peu dégoutant, mais sinon, tout était propre. Our family of four wanted to drive all over the island seeing as many different beaches, parks, golf courses, and other attractions as possible. This was a great home base. The townhouse was clean, safe, and well stocked. We especially enjoyed the beach chairs and pool noodles while snorkeling. The air conditioning in the upstairs bedrooms worked great and made it very comfortable to sleep. It did get warm downstairs writing the day but who’s home them? It’s Hawaii! The beach nearby was great to go out and have coffee in the mornings. Great place to stay! ##### James H.
