Cradle of prehistory, Périgord is full of treasures. The Dordogne, the Vézère and the turbulence of history have sculpted pretty valleys there dominated by imposing castles.
This region offers many markets (nocturne, fat market) and many noble and regional products (truffles, foie gras, saffron, walnuts, duck, etc.) and this gives an extraordinary gastronomy combining local products in a rich and inventive cuisine.
This region is also rich in amusement parks (Univerland, Jacquou Parc, Parc Le Bournat, etc.), i.e. five amusement parks within 10 km of our gites.
Perigord is also full of exceptional sites (Lascaux cave, Padirac chasm, La roque Saint Christophe) as well as these towns (Rocamadour, Sarlat La Caneda, Perigueux, etc.) And its many castles (Château de Hautefort, castles of Castelnaud, castles of Beynac, Etc…)

Très bon séjour
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à Journiac. Les hôtes sont très accueillants ainsi que leurs enfants qui partagé de bons moments avec nos petits enfants. Très présents lorsque l'on a besoin d'eux. Ce gîte est très fonctionnel et la piscine est superbe sans parler du grand terrain qui l'entour. bref c'est très bien. On est à la campagne et proche pour faire quelques courses au supermarché...boulangerie, marché mardi matin et surtout à ne pas manquer le marché gourmand mardi soir où on peut se restaurer avec des produits locaux.

Très beau séjour passé à Journiac. Le logement est bien équipé. La literie est remarquable et la propreté impeccable à notre arrivée. Les jeux à disposition (babyfoot, balançoire, trampoline, table ping pong, fléchettes, ... ont ravi nos enfants.
