It is a perfect location if you are looking to wake up early and walk to the bamboo forest, you can be one of the first people there. Kenji also gave us recommendations of places to visit in the area that you otherwise may not have known about. "
"This place was a nice retreat for me after spending the majority of the past two weeks in Tokyo and Osaka. It is right next to the train station and a short walk to the sights in Arashiyama. The onsen facilities were very nice."
"The location is great- steps from the train station. Not a lot nearby in terms of food and most things close early when the tourists leave for the day. Which means it’s pretty quiet at night. Rooms are good size, not cramped like most of Japan. Windows barely open and the AC was not working well when we were there. "
