![Tucked away on one of the more quiet islands of the Bocas del Toro province in Panama, there is an ecolodge called 'Cocovivo'. Through a long chain of friends of friends, I discovered this little paradise where peacefulness is key. Originally set up as a co-working space, the owners of Cocovivo made this place a home away from home. Set up with the help of an indigenous Ngobe-Guble family, everything is ecological: yes, that means a compost toilet. If that does not convince you yet, then maybe the possibility to kayak surrounded by dolphins will. Or you can practice yoga on your stand-up paddleboard. Or jump from the diving board right in the Caribbean sea and explore the reef. Or go on a jungle walk and count all the sloths you can see. Or eat delicious food made with very very local ingredients. Or see the stars in the sky reflected in the water bioluminescent plankton. Who needs Bocas' party scene when you have the 'disco' lights above and underneath you right? Freshly caught lobsters and seafood, and the best gourmet breakfasts and dinners prepared by the owners. We shared laughs, stories, and karaoke in the evenings with other guests. They also coordinate tours and other activities on the beaches and surrounding islands. Also I recommend this wonderful place for a Pilates retreat - Yoga - Family reunion promotion, etc. »

« Nous avons passés 2 jours, dans une chambre puis un bungalow dans la jungle. Experience au top ! Le temps n a pas toujours etait de la partie mais les hotes sont adorables, attentifs et mettent tout en oeuvre pour que tout soit facile et agréable pour nous ! Encore merci :) materiels a disposition pour snorkiling, paddle. Nourriture le soir excellente. Franchement allez y les yeux fermés !!! Encore merci à Nathalie et son mari qui sont vraiment des personnes super ! »

« + Employée/gestionnaire très gentil + Beauté de l’établissement et propreté. - Aucune insonorisation entre les chambres (on entend les moindres faits et gestes des voisins...) - Aucune intimité (rideau transparent, on voit dans les autres chambres le soir/nuit) - lit qui craque au moindre mouvement - nourriture très de base - eau chaude de la douche instable et utilisable que 30 secondes. Bref pour le prix, nous avons été extrêmement déçu. »

« Tropical private paradise. Beautiful rustic bungalow right on aqua waters. We came on off season and felt like we had the island to ourselves. There are kayaks to use as well. If you want more restaurants and life come in the main dry season. There is coral snorkeling nearby and an amazing indigenous guide and chef named Calypso who showed us all the local animals, sloths, monkeys, frogs, caiman and plant medicines. James the host answered any questions or needs we had. Be sure to ask him a lot...

« Un séjour formidable. L’emplacement et le cadre sont idéals, entre mer et jungle et à seulement 5 minutes en bateau taxi de l’île principale. Les dortoirs et autres espaces de vie sont propres. La grande terrasse est conviviale. Le staff du Bambuda est particulièrement sympathique et attentionné. Un merci en particulier à tous les volontaires (et plus encore à Hugo et Helwan) qui rendent ce séjour encore plus agréable qu’il ne l’est déjà, notamment par l’organisation d’activités, etc. »

![Tucked away on one of the more quiet islands of the Bocas del Toro province in Panama, there is an ecolodge called 'Cocovivo'. Through a long chain of friends of friends, I discovered this little paradise where peacefulness is key. Originally set up as a co-working space, the owners of Cocovivo made this place a home away from home. Set up with the help of an indigenous Ngobe-Guble family, everything is ecological: yes, that means a compost toilet. If that does not convince you yet, then maybe the possibility to kayak surrounded by dolphins will. Or you can practice yoga on your stand-up paddleboard. Or jump from the diving board right in the Caribbean sea and explore the reef. Or go on a jungle walk and count all the sloths you can see. Or eat delicious food made with very very local ingredients. Or see the stars in the sky reflected in the water bioluminescent plankton. "Nous avons réservé cet hôtel par l’intermédiaire du site Hôtel.com. 5 nuits du 9 au 14 février, chambre 204\. Hôtel, il est dit rénové oui mais au combien moche. Salle de bain, le sol de la douche est très très glissant, l’éclairage et la prise ne fonctionnaient pas. Pas de machine à café, pas de réfrigérateur, se dont disposent d’autre chambre. Nous n’avons pas été convié au cocktail de bienvenue, réservé pour d’autres clients! Première nuit sans problèmes à part les clients indélicats qui parlent dans les couloirs à toute heure, de la nuit. 2eme nuit vers 23 H, nous avons pensé qu’une grande partie de l’Hotel s'écroulait. Au niveau du 3 eme étage, nous supposons une rupture de canalisation. S’en suivie des bruits importants de travaux, à plus de 2 H du matin, toujours autant de bruit causé par les mouvements importants dans les couloirs. Pas d’eau chaude ni froide. Notre formule avec petit déjeuner, on nous fourni une carte, nous choisissons, salade de fruits et yaourt, dans de minuscules récipients se trouvent une salade de fruits toute gluante , et du yaourt que nous avons recraché car immangeable. A la fin du petit déjeuner, la serveuse nous a demandé de payer, chose que nous avons refusé, cette serveuse ne nous avait pas fournie la bonne carte. Au 2eme jour nous avons quitté cet hôtel car il ne correspondait pas du tout aux prestations que nous aurions espéré. Nous avons écrit un message à Hôtel.com pour demander le remboursement des 3 nuits res"
