"We absolutely loved the property and cabin. Very relaxing. The only negative part out of our entire weekend was the beds were the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. We tried the pullout bed even but it was still hard as a rock just like the upstairs one. We would love to come back but hopefully there will be a different mattress available."

"We had an amazing time during our stay at Peter's cabin. Cute cabin, on the lake, surrounded by trees. Beautiful scenery, something out of a movie. Perfect location on the lake for our 2-year-old. Private sand area by the dock in front of the cabin. The water is only about 1-2 feet deep until the end of the dock which was perfect for our son to play in. Happy we were on Lower Herring as it was calm enough for us to get in the water every day. Loved access to the private beach at the Watervale Inn. When we went, we were the only family there. White sand and blue clear water. The location of the cabin was perfect. Easy 10-minute drive to Frankfort, Empire and about 15 minutes to Bealuh. We will most definitely be back. We were also allowed an early check in and late check out. Peter was very responsive and a great host."

"My parents, husband and 3 children under the age of 9 all enjoyed staying at this property. It had everything we needed. Downstairs is a substantial King bed suite with attached bathroom. Upstairs is a Queen bedroom, a full bathroom, a bedroom with bunk beds and a queen bed and a loft for playing games or just relaxing. The real gem of this place is the backyard which sits beautifully on the lake and a dock for the kids to jump off of and swim. The property is wonderfully private and remote. The lake is sleepy and has the best sunsets. We rented a pontoon boat and took the kids tubing and water skiing. We spent a day at Sleeping bear dunes which is a must and another day exploring Frankfort. Frankfort is an adorable little town with shopping, restaurants and ice cream and has the most beautiful beach and even more stunning sunset. Our drive was 13min to town and about 40min to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We loved our location and proximity to exploring the town and everything northern MI has to offer. We will definitely return!!"

"A spacious retreat with every amenity located in a hamlet along the Northwest Coast. Perched upon a hillside open lot one has the perfect sledding hill in winter or slip ‘n slide time in summer. If one needs daily activities, Frankfort or Manistee are 15 to 20 minutes to shops, eats and traditional hussle and bussle. But the one that needs to unwind, to appreciate the calm versus the norm come here. Arcadia beach bonfire at dusk, convenient boardwalk stroll through Acadia Marsh Preserve, glorious hikes within 5 minutes north of town. Golfers ten minutes to three memorable courses. Bonus time in mid July to mid August picking cherries in the orchards overflowing. Retreat to the Other Arcadia."

"This house is incredibly spacious and easy to feel at home in. We thought it was walking distance to the beach but it's way too overgrown to do that safely, and you're limited to a small view of the lake from the back of the house, or a better one from the upstairs deck. The kitchen is huge and has high quality appliances, including ice maker, and the eat in kitchen has seating for four as does the front living room, so nowhere for five or more to eat together. Another review mentioned mice and ants, and we saw zero but there was a box of rodent poison open on the basement floor which would have been concerning if we had younger children there. We didn't use the tv but brought a fire TV which worked fine on the internet. Also, I worked remotely during our week there with no trouble from the TV room but poor connection from the formal living room. The bathrooms are large and everything was spotless! The week we were there was chilly until the end, and we had a tough time getting the AC to cool down the house for the last two days. The bathrooms are both on the main floor. The laundry area was a bonus but as an FYI, the washer is small but effective. You have to run a few smaller loads. I wish there was an outdoor patio and the basement smelled mildewy but overall we loved the place! Very comfy beds and bedding. Excellent blinds and window coverings for sound sleep too! Would definitely return!"
