Look UP to see Blue Jay Residences. Like many hotels in Hong Kong, the room is small, but we enjoy seeing how they make the best use of the space they have. There was a fridge and small closet area with a few hangers. What we really enjoyed was the walks around town. More old fashioned and slower paced than HK the city. The waterfront is busy with junks looking for tourist riders as well as nicer boats. Many folks walking, many with dogs. I don’t usually book budget but needed to stay near a friend, so haven’t got much to compare it to in the price range. Reception nice. Bed hard as a rock and pillows too. Lights tripped first night but I didn’t mention anything. Wi-Fi didn’t work so had to tether to another room but it was not fully secure and intermittent so had to buy an eSIM. Was not the cleanest - hairs on bathroom floor, marks on walls, stray toothpaste caps under cabinets ( I wasn’t looking!) It’s in need of refurbishment. I’ve added some photos that explain all. No safe so felt I had to keep valuables with me. However it was quiet. Ap lei Chou and Aberdeen are worth an explore. Won’t be booking the blue jay again but I’m sure if you’re on a budget and don’t have much of an expectation and don’t mind no room to even pick up a cat let alone swing it, then this is perfect!
