I want to especially mention the great staff. It appears to be family staffed with the owner, Artur, manning the daytime reception. He was a great gentleman and very helpful giving information on local sights to see. When our next stop at Media Luna Guesthouse in Seydisfjördur went bad because we were not given the check-in codes until very, very late, it was an easy decision to stay a third night at Hotel Jokull. This is a great place to view the nearby Vesturahorn range, Skutafoss, and the Red Chair.

Lovely place- would highly recommend. Nice breakfast buffet. Easy checkin and checkout. No phones in rooms but don’t need them! TVs are new and everything is super up to date.

We checked in, the receptionist was very helpful, recommended an excellent restaurant! The room had a spectacular view, very clean and had everything you would need. Breakfast the next morning was excellent! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!! Very close to Hofn, gas, restaurants and shopping . 5⭐️

We were the only guest staying here that night, but understandably Höfn is further away especially during the off peak winter months. Keeping this in mind we were asked what we’d like for breakfast so there was no buffet (so can’t comment on all of the options that may have been available if full house), we were also offered a radiator, along with the wall attached room radiator incase it got cold. Pros - huge room with big windows, bit toilet, tv, decent breakfast, polite and accommodative reception lady. Out of hours number was useful - help arrived in 3 minutes when we called up! Wide corridor outside room - good space for baby to crawl. Cons - car park area felt spooky at night with limited lighting, this could have been exaggerated because we were already hotel alone to begin with. A personal opinion, but if a member of staff stayed on-site, or made the exception of staying on-site in this instance, so that we weren’t completely alone it would have helped increase sense of security. Obviously this requires senior planning and decision making but would have really added to the experience.

I would definitely stay here again.
Very clean and the woman at the front was very friendly and even gave us some recommendations of places to check out in Höfn. All in all, very good stay and at a very good price too.

Front desk staff are very accommodating and friendly. Lovely breakfast buffet with helpful staff preparing/ serving. Room was clean, design is simple yet very functional. Location very convenient to go into Hofn or up the road to sight seeing places!

The building exterior and drafty windows needs updating. But the inside restaurant area and room were clean and comfortable. The private bathroom shower needs doors rather than a curtain, gets the entire bathroom floor wet and slippery. Excellent free breakfast options and the gentlemen at the reception desk was very helpful and polite.

Gas station across the street had lights on all night, which meant no possibility of seeing Northern Lights from our room. No lift so had to carry luggage to second floor. Food was sub standard.

Place reminded me of some places I’ve been on course in the military. For the price, no complaints. Staff were nice enough. Busy breakfast that had variety. We ate at the restaurant because after a long day of driving to see the sights I wanted a beer. Meal was really good.
