"My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. As a Black guest, I consistently felt that white guests were treated better. Making restaurant reservations was unnecessarily difficult, and even when seated, I was often served last or passed over entirely. The only restaurant where I received decent treatment was the Italian one. The food overall was poor, the customer service was terrible, and the rooms had a strong musty smell. The only enjoyable parts of the trip were the excursions outside the hotel. The most concerning incident happened the day before I left: I saw the housekeeper assigned to my room holding my bank pouch, and afterward I discovered money missing. She appeared startled when she saw me, and before I could ask her name, she quickly left and sent another housekeeper to retrieve her cart. I would not recommend this hotel, especially to Black travelers, based on my experience."

"This was the craziest place I have ever stayed in 42 years of life. When we checked in, we had no blankets, no hair dryer, no face towels - which would have been totally fine but the phone didn’t work so we couldn’t call the front desk to request any of these items. The next day I asked a staff member, he wrote my requests down but nothing happened. We drank the two bottles of water they provided (tap was undrinkable). The ceiling leaked in the bathroom onto my husband’s toiletries. The following day I asked for more water and again for the phone to be fixed, to no avail. I wound up dumping soda from the fridge (there was plenty of that) to be able to bring back water from the bar. They finally gave me a hair dryer, but the ceiling leaked on it again. My choices were go to dinner with wet hair again or be electrocuted. The following day was my husband’s birthday. They didn’t bring us water, but they gifted us a bottle of rum. My sister tried to fill up her water at the front desk welcome station and was scolded. We’re denied entry to dinner for 5 minutes because the restaurant staff member spelled our last name wrong. At dinner, the high chairs are all taken; my mother in law has to go find one at another restaurant bc the staff won’t take initiative. When we got back to the room, there was a blaring dance party that made it impossible to sleep. Last day: we get four bottle of water, a fixed phone blankets, pillows brought to our room, just in time to fly home. "
