It looks like a winter wonderland, but we went in the summer. It was a bit desolate, with nothing around. The outside looked rundown, but the inside was beautiful maintained, cleaned and comfortable. The staff was nice, nothing to brag about. We were especially surprised that there was nothing to eat around, and the hotel charged $20 for breakfast, and $80 for dinner. And the staff was somewhat unhelpful in finding alternatives. Makes sense from a business perspective, but not so much from a customer service perspective.
The location being so close to the Asahidake ropeway station (within 10 minutes walk) was the best part!
