Top Hart County Hotel Reviews

Hampton Inn Cave City, KY

8/10 Good

"The front desk (Lena?) was amazing and so very kind. She deserves a raise! I was there for an overnight due to bad weather. The bed was comfy. Room was clean. There could be some maintenance upgrades in the room I stayed in. (130). The plug for the sink did not work properly, the toilet roll holder was broken. The breakfast was ok. The food seemed a bit overcooked. Yay for oatmeal. For a quick overnight it worked! Ps. They are a pet friendly hotel so that is always a plus!"

Lake House at Nolin Lake in Cub Run, KY Private Boat ramp near Mammoth Cave

8/10 Good

"The home was cozy with cute lake-themed decor. There was ample sleeping space for our group of seven, including two queen bedrooms, two pullout queen couches, and two twin beds in the upstairs loft. We enjoyed the porch and fire pit, and the host was quick and responsive when I reached out with a question about fire pit use.Unfortunately, cleanliness was disappointing. We found a diaper in one of the pullout couches and sticky residue on many of the dishes, so we had to wash all dishes and cookware before and after use. There were also numerous cigarette butts scattered outside. The single bathroom was challenging for a group of seven, especially with five teenagers. The sign asking guests not to flush toilet paper was also an inconvenience. The location was much more remote than we anticipated. The nearest store was a Dollar General a considerable drive away, while Bowling Green, with grocery stores and restaurants, was about an hour away. Mammoth Cave was also a little over an hour’s drive, despite being our primary reason for choosing the location. We appreciated the kayaks being available, although we didn’t have time to use them.Overall, the home has charm and potential, and the host was responsive. However, between the cleanliness issues, bathroom limitations, remote location, and distance to Mammoth Cave, we felt the value didn’t quite match the price, particularly compared to other accommodations at a similar rate."
