The best area to stay in Grey is the Town Centre, particularly around Grey Street and the Esplanade, for its convenient access to amenities and the waterfront.

The Town Centre is the heart of Grey, offering a blend of shops, cafes, and restaurants. Grey Street is the main thoroughfare, lined with boutiques and eateries, while the Esplanade runs along the coast, providing lovely views of the Indian Ocean. It's a very walkable area, making it easy to explore on foot.

For couples, the Town Centre is an excellent choice due to its array of dining options and proximity to the foreshore. Evening strolls along the Esplanade are popular, and many accommodations offer ocean views, great for a relaxing getaway. You'll find a good selection of boutique hotels and serviced apartments here.

Families will also find the Town Centre highly convenient. There are several parks and playgrounds along the Esplanade, and the Grey Family Beach is easily accessible for a day of fun in the sun.

For most travellers, the best time to visit Grey is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, you'll experience clear skies, comfortable temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C, and low humidity. This makes it ideal for exploring the region's outdoor attractions, such as the coastline and national parks, without the intense heat and humidity of the wet season. It's also the best time for wildlife spotting, particularly for whale watching.

The shoulder months of April and November can also be a good option. While you might experience the occasional shower, the weather is generally pleasant, and you'll find fewer crowds and potentially better value on accommodation and tours.
