The space For our recent renovation, our goal was to create a modern vibrant space which is both stylish and relaxing, so that you can feel at once both 'at home' and pampered in luxury! I think we achieved this - big comfy lounges, fresh bright colours, warm 'wooden' floorboards... with finishing touches of decor that are 'alive', and happy.
As for THAT VIEW... well that was there already! All I did was to choose it! Best decision ever :) It's SUCH an ingenious design to create a space with so much light, airflow and view! For accuracy, when I said 'all' directions, I meant, sweeping from East through North, then West and South... the only direction missing from your view is South-East. That's where the rest of the building is. If you look at photo #4, you will see a 'porthole' window. This is yours - a fun 'nautical' window with lovely mountain views! All of the windows facing the tropical gardens (south) are yours as far as the central blue pillar. These windows give endless views all the way down the golden coastline to Coolangatta (see Kitchen & BR2 views). The wrap-around north-facing balcony that you can see is yours, giving you your sunrise to sunset views, and your stunning Eastern views of the Ocean, sweeping around through City skyline to River and Mountains. Kitchen - has huge bench space, a great view (!), and is fully equipped with cooking pots & pans and appliances including pod coffee machine, coffee plunger, teapots, rice cooker (and sushi mats!), popcorn maker (for movie nights!), jaffle (toasted sandwich) maker, smoothie blender, and beater (electric hand-held) so you can bake that special occasion cake! Double sets of crockery and cutlery so you can still eat while the other set is being washed in your brand new Miele dishwasher! Tough melamine unbreakable crockery and is also provided - for the kids, and also for you to use with picnic basket & portable drinks bag for poolside BBQs and beach picnics!
The funky colorful bedrooms have all brand new furniture including mattresses and memory foam pillows. Ceiling fans & BIR in both bedrooms. The Master bedroom is a lovely relaxing haven for you (views north and east). Lie in bed gazing out at the ocean blue. Be gently rocked to sleep to the rhythm of the waves lapping against the sands below. The second bedroom has the same outlook as the Kitchen down the southern coastline, and also south-west to the river (as shown in BR2 photos).
Flexible bedding arrangements are available offering: * King in the Master bedroom * 2 Long Singles which can be converted to a King in the second bedroom. Please let me know when you book if you require the King in BR2. * Double Sofa-bed in the lounge. Sofa-bed linen will of course be provided for bookings of 5 or 6 guests. If you are are a smaller group and would like to use the sofa-bed, please let me know when you book so we can prepare linen.
We have added some special touches for the kids too, with a cheeky monkey and sleek leopard popping up here and there in the decor, as well as dolphins, sea birds and beach scenes.
An abundance of beach toys, pool toys, bodyboards, surf mats, tennis racquets and indoor games are available in the apartment for your use.
TV is a huge 65 inch Smart TV. It has a soundbar and free Netflix. You can also channel your other PayTV subscriptions through it.
Wife - Free, unlimited, super-fast.
Work Station - there is a small table between the two porthole windows - perfect for use as a Workstation. Standing study lamp available. Feel free to spin the table and pick your view! Actually I personally prefer to do my work sitting at the south-western corner of the dining table. From there you can see both the northern and southern ocean views!
Laundry - internal, all yours. Beautifully organised for your beach holidays with shelves for beach toys and towels. Brand new washing machine & dryer. Laundry tub, drying rack, pegs, iron, ironing board and foot pump for inflatable toys.
Bathrooms - Bath in main bathroom, 2 showers, 2 toilets, 2 vanities, 2 hair dryers. The Ensuite is the only room without a window (and view).
Car Park - your apartment comes with one complimentary marked car spot in the secure basement carpark. There is also free parking on the street, this is usually available except possibly during peak periods. You may park briefly in the building Visitor carpark when picking up the keys.
Air Conditioning - please note that this is only in the lounge/dining/kitchen open-plan area. (This is common for many high-rises in Surfers). Both bedrooms have fans. Leave bedroom doors open if you need the cool air to travel down the hallway. Because you have windows in all directions (did I say that already?!) you have beautiful cross-ventilation and a lovely refreshing breeze when you open the windows and balcony doors. We have never used the aircon, but it is there for you!
Lifts & accessibility? There are 2 lifts servicing the building. There are NO STAIRS needed to access any of these areas: Car park, Resort indoor facilities, Resort outdoor facilities, back door. At the Front door, there are 2 steps to Reception, then another 4 steps to the lift lobby. If you prefer not to tackle these stairs you may choose to walk around to the back door (or come in via the car park).
Beach towels - are provided for your use. These are not available through our linen service, so we have added these as an additional convenience for you. If you choose to use our beach towels, please wash and dry them before checkout. If you prefer not to do this, please bring your own beach towels.
CHECKIN - we offer Self Checkin with the Keybox OR Early Key Pickup (and luggage drop-off). Early luggage drop-off (and key pickup) is usually available between around 10:30am - 1:30pm. Please let us know when you book which Checkin method you would like, we may be able to adjust the times when given plenty of advance notice.
Standard Checkin time is 2pm and Checkout is 10am. Sometimes these times may be varied, please let us know your preference when you book.
COVID CANCELLATIONS Due to the continually evolving Covid situation, my commitment to you is that, IF your cancellation is due to Covid (eg being Covid-positive or border closure), I will give you 100% refund (over-riding your AirBnB booking cancellation policy) even if cancelled the day before. Already there have been many last minute cancellations due to sudden border closures. In all cases I have given 100% refund, and I will do this for you too.
Here is a reference from our Guest who was due to arrive on Friday 28 May 2021. The Victorian Lockdown was announced on Thursday 27 May. Cancellation was within 24 hours of Checkin. “Ann has been excellent to deal with. Our accommodation was cancelled due to the Covid lockdown in Victoria. Ann went above and beyond to make sure that we get a full refund within a week. I would 100% to anyone who is looking to book an accommodation. Whenever we are flying to Gold Coast next we will be booking an accommodation through Ann. Trustworthy and professional”.
If your cancellation is due to any reason other than Covid, then the AirBnB cancellation policy that you booked under will apply.
