Charming cottage on beautiful South Manistique Lake

Come and enjoy your stay on South Manistique Lake in Curtis, MI in a lovely century old log cottage. As one guest mentioned "This place is amazing! Like living in another time but with modern conveniences."

The cottage has plenty of sleeping and living space and a beautiful, well-stocked galley kitchen all situated on a scenic lake front. The main cabin has 3 bedrooms, a sitting room with futon adjacent to the master bedroom, a full bath, and a spacious living area. The deck off the main cabin has outdoor seating and a beautiful view of the lake. The newly remodeled guest suite includes a queen size bed, a full bath, washing machine/dryer and also has a great view of the lake.

During your stay at Sprang Cottage you will be able to relax in a hammock, enjoy kayaking on the lake, fish off the cedar dock, play corn hole in the yard, grill delicious food on a charcoal Weber grill, sit by a crackling campfire, watch the brilliant stars and so much more.

The cabin is within an hour’s drive from the Tahquamenon Falls, Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, Seney Wildlife Refuge and other interesting and scenic places to visit.

Sprang Cottage is the perfect spot to spend hours enjoying life on the lake and exploring the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Beautiful location on a lake with a great view. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. A washer and dryer were also provided with laundry supplies. Two bedrooms downstairs with a bathroom. Huge bedroom upstairs that shares the downstairs bathroom. A really nice bedroom was added to the back of the garage with a full bathroom/laundry room. Dollar General and two restaurants are just down the road. The communication with the host was great. We enjoyed our stay!

We have rented, regularly in the UP for 30 years. I would have to rate this transaction #1. Every need was provided for. The home was exquisitely decorated, and comfortable. My family enjoyed staying at your cottage on the lake. The pictures posted are up to date.It was a little chilly for July hut the evening campfire solved that. Could have used a Marshmallow stick. We also enjoyed seeing the occasional deer roaming the area. :)

Wonderful place

Thought of giving a bad review so we could have this place to ourselves again, but it’s just too nice of a place to keep to ourselves. Owners are great to work with and very accommodating. The only downside is that it’s a bit of a hike to the nearest full service grocery store - so plan ahead.

Family vacation

We did toured Waterfalls, rented pontoon for the lake, visit bears and cuddled with puppy sled dogs. GREAT VACATION. The house was perfect, had everything we needed and more. It was comfortable. Absolutely loved it. We will be coming back:).

Perfect stay

The cabin is actually nicer than depicted, so comfortable and incredibly well stocked for guests (spices, oil, shampoo/conditioner/ laundry detergent, charcoal, wood for the fire). Owners are very responsive and helpful. We rented a pontoon boat from a local company and fished, caught pike, bass, catfish. Saw the local bald eagle and loons. Very relaxing. Highly recommend.

VanderWest's Fall Get Away

Enjoyed a week of lazing about and visiting places we love. The cottage was lovely. More room than what we expected. Very sad we couldnt use the fire place but understand why not. Took advantage of having a fire down by the lake.

Great Getaway

This property was nice and comfortable with all the amenities. The king bed in the upper loft is super comfortable and there was plenty of room for the whole family of 7. There is a flight of stairs to the lakefront but not too bad. Decent fishing and good for swimming. The guest cottage is very nice and comfortable with a full bathroom, ceiling fan, and laundry. The hosts are super responsive, helpful, and nice. My only recommendation would to have a patio umbrella as the back deck did get direct sun which made it a little hot. Other than that it was a great trip.

Pure Michigan Beauty!

There were 6 of us and we were very comfortable in this beautiful cottage. Great location for exploring the UP. Communication with the host was unication with the host was easy and very helpful for planning our days out. I would highly recommend this location for a great family vacation.

Back to school get away

We scheduled a last minute get away with our daughters before we dropped them off at college. The cottage and property were even more beautiful than we hoped. The cottage is a 100 year old structure with modern updates. There is also a suite attached to the garage with a queen size bed and additional full bathroom and laundry. This property offers stunning views of South Manistique Lake in a quiet peaceful setting. We were looking for a relaxing vacation and it exceeded our expectations. Geordie and Bridget went above and beyond to provide everything you would need to be comfortable including local coffee and chocolate upon our arrival. The kitchen had everything you'd find in your own home, kayaks were available as well as a fire pit and plenty of chopped wood. There was even a brief power outage due to a storm and Geordie was quick to reach out to let us know where we could find lanterns, flashlights, etc. He also brought over bottled water and a potable water container in case it was needed. We loved everything about our stay, would definitely recommend and hope to stay here again!

Beautiful property

We’ve had a great stay at this cozy cabin.The hosts were very responsive and welcoming.There is plenty of room if you want to bring families with you.Very clean and well maintained!The lake is awesome just to look at it and there is plenty of fish in it.Kids were out there non stop. We visited every day all the main attractions.Less then an hour to Pictures Rocks,Taquamenon Falls,Mackinac Island. Thank you for all your help to make tuis an amazing experience!
