« Perfect location right on the trail - which is beautiful. walking/running/biking. The location allows the ability to walk anywhere you need downtown, which is a little sleepy but cute nonetheless. We weren't ready for the trains, which arrived every hour to two hours throughout the night, as the railroad is just a couple of hundred feet away—(Sunday night stay - not sure if this matters, which night of the week). »

« Cannot expect alot from a low budget hotel. I wanted a clean bed and bathroom and they provided that. The grounds are very uninviting. Bottom line is you get what you pay for so don't expect too much. »

« Everything was very nice, but it would have been nice to have hooks or bars to hang wet towels, or robes. « The Paddler's Retreat is REALLY out of the way. We enjoyed our stay however, people need to understand that all services are limited. Due to Covid there is only a very limited breakfast, mostly cold. If you want tea, you will need to use the microwave. The range is not available. Furthermore, the options are more limited for dinner. There is only a gas station / limited eatery that stop serving at 6:30pm. The little town, Confluence is about 5 miles away. « There are several long term renters. It’s a rough crowd. The lamp by the bed was busted. Water taps switched. Evidence of recent fumigation. It felt like someone had just moved out. I’m fine with less than standard accommodations but I felt like I was likely to be part of a crime scene. My wife warned me not to come home with bedbugs. « Our son is at Frostburg State. The Allegheny Trail house will be our place to stay whenever we plan to visit our son. This place is unique and lovely to stay at. Friendly and attentive staff. »
