Decided to attend a function in Gainesville on Tuesday. Classes started the following Monday so the hotels were charging outrageous rates. Went to VRBO and found this little gem at 80% less than the hotels. It's a little compound with several rentals all under the Depot Village umbrella. We stayed at the Animal House, 3 rooms and a bathroom. No frills but everything we needed and everyone-managment and guests- were as friendly as can be. My only problem is that the fees were more than the rent. That just doesn't seem right to me. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and hope that there is availability our next trip. ##### Samuel A G. I stayed the weekend with a friend, but you could definitely sleep 4-5 people with the pullout bed and air mattress. Great location and very clean. Very nice shower too! I stayed with two of my friends, and we really had a great time in a great location (coffee shop right next door is fantastic). Host was super responsive and kind, and it really is less than ten minute walk from downtown highlights like the Hippodrome, Bo Didley Plaza, and Depot Park. The rental also had all the utensils, pots , pans, mugs, soap, shampoo, towels, etc that we needed to! There is no microwave, which was a little unexpected, but was super easy to work around with a stove, oven, and walking distance to so so many place to eat (take out during COVID!!) It is downtown without a designated parking spot, so parking is a pain with first come first serve street parking. We did manage to get a spot almost every time for our stay, but it was a concern. ##### Olivia T. I liked that it was walking distance to restaurants and shopping. I felt the property was very clean and I truly enjoyed that shower! If you are looking at this property to rent I would say it’s best for 2- 4 people and only if you are real comfortable with each other. Walking distance to downtown Gainesville and only a short distance from campus. Unique building and the address listed doesn’t take you to the front door so check with the property manager. Just a few comments: 1) Laura was very communicative, but there was nearly an hour delay after our set check-in time. 2) Parking instructions and WiFi password were not provided up front. I had to ask. 3) The place was charming and clean, but number of guests was overstated. 4 adults would be maximum, as there is only one bathroom, and you have to go through the bedroom to get to the kitchen! 4) There is a bar next door, so there was a little late night noise.
