LOCATION - 7 blocks south of Main Street
HOSTS - Home to yourselves, but there are other guesthouses to rent on the property
SLEEPS - Up to 4 people; 1 queen bed in loft area upstairs & 2 single beds in downstairs bedroom
BATH - 1 bath; Downstairs has a walk-in shower & toilet & upstairs has a whirlpool tub
KITCHEN - Kitchenette w/ a coffee maker, microwave & mini fridge
AMENITIES - TV, WiFi, front porch with seating, natural gas stove

PETS - YES (Limit 2 Under 30 lbs each)

The house does accept up to two dogs but we ask that each is 30 lbs or less. In addition, there is an additional pet fee of $22/pet/night (before tax). Furthermore, we ask that you do not allow the dogs on the beds or furniture, property dispose of their waste, and do not allow them on the furniture or beds. If these rules are not followed, there will be an additional $200 charge added to your reservation.

- Observe the City of Fredericksburg Quiet Hours (10pm to 7am in residential zones). No music of any kind after 10 pm.
- The City of Fredericksburg is a Dark Sky Community with outdoor lighting restrictions. All outdoor lighting is encouraged to be turned off when no one is present to use the light.

Great cabin near the heart of town

We were thrilled to find this hidden gem in Fredericksburg. It is located just a couple of miles away from the heart of town. The house was super clean and spacious enough for our family of four. The pictures were accurate, and it was a very charming cabin. On our first day, it was a breezy 75, but overnight there was a cold front and we woke up to 30 temperatures. Thankfully, both the heat and cooling worked fantastic. We had one minor snafu, but that was on us not understanding how the back door locked. I sent a quick text and had a response in under two minutes.Check-in and checkout process was super easy and the Internet work great! Normally, I travel with extra cleaning supplies, toilet paper and towels, just in case the house does not have everything we need. This place have everything and then some! I was so grateful for the perfect location and a great three day getaway for our family during spring break. I also really appreciate that they have quiet hours so you do not have to worry about any parties going on around you. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Girls Getaway

My best friend and I loved this little getaway for our Mother’s Day Weekend away from the hubbies and kids. The price for the rental of Larkspur was reasonable considering it was a quick holiday weekend. It gave us the homey feeling we were wanting vs. being trapped in a hotel room the with the same boring floor plan. We look forward to telling our friends about our stay there.

Cute little cottage

This place was perfect for 3 people! It was nice and cozy especially with the fire place. Very close to Main Street - we did drive, not walk since it was cold but it was under 5 minute drive!! We would definitely go there again!

It's a lovely cabin and we enjoyed ourselves. I should have paid attention to the fact there was no stove top; but we ended up having breakfast next door at Emma & Ollie

Wonderful Accommodations

We always wonder what your getting when staying in a new place, however this location was a breath of fresh air! The cabin had all we needed to enjoy or stay and much more. The property manager thought of everything one might need or forget to make an enjoyable stay. The cabin was very cozy and clean. My Wife and I give it a 10 out of 10 and look forward to coming back! Thank you Property Manager for your attention to detail!

Nice cabin, four adults stayed two nights with only two negatives; we ran our of towels and the back door was difficult to lock. But, with this said, we would stay there again and will recommend this cabin to our friends.

Weekend at Larkspur

We had such a great weekend staying at Larkspur this weekend. The cabin was perfect. The staff at Gastehause Schmidt was extremely helpful, we had originally booked with Airbnb and were concerned when the property owner cancelled our reservation to switch to Gastehaus. My boyfriend called Gastehaus Schmidt and they took care of everything for us. We were even able to book a wine tasting tour with Elizabeth Haus wine tours that was absolutely perfect!!

The Larkspur was a Comfortable cabin. The door had a single lock that was difficult to work and seemed flimsy. Would recommend stringer and better working lock to protect traveler belongings..

Fredericksburg log cabin.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here. The website stated a minimum of two nights on weekends, but we were able to stay Friday night. (Thank you). Location to downtown area was within walking distance for walkers, but a little far for most. The restaurant next door was closed for the holidays, but we found the Sunset Grill to be out of this world for breakfast. Hight marks for the ambience of the log cabin and the three other cabins that frame this spot. Our cabin had a jacuzzi tub in the loft! Maybe not very private for a family or group, but a couple would have a lot of fun.
