Nestled in the heart of Polruan, this charming self-catering cottage offers an idyllic retreat for those eager to experience the best of village life and the stunning Cornish coast. Blending modern comforts with traditional charm, it serves as the perfect base for exploring Polruan and the surrounding coastal scenery. Within walking distance, you’ll find convenient access to local amenities, including: • Polruan Village Store for daily essentials• Polruan Bakery and Café for fresh pastries and light bites• The Russell Inn and The Lugger Inn on the quay for a traditional pub experience• Willows Tea Room for a delightful cream tea• The Winkle Picker Shop on the quay for unique gifts Just a quick water taxi ride takes you across the river to Fowey, where you can wander through its narrow streets, exploring boutique shops, art galleries, and local crafts. Don’t forget to pick up some Cornish souvenirs or ingredients for a home-cooked meal. Enjoy lunch or dinner at one of Fowey’s many charming cafés, pubs, and restaurants. Local attractions include: • St. Catherine’s Castle: A historic fort offering breathtaking sea views.• Fowey Aquarium: A small, local aquarium showcasing marine life from the Cornish coast.• The Fowey Museum: Discover the local history, including shipbuilding and famous residents like author Daphne du Maurier. A dining table with four chairs sits near the window, perfect for meals or afternoon tea. The room is complete with a wood-burning stove, built-in cupboards, electric radiator, and a vinyl floor. • Kitchen: A step up leads to the fitted kitchen, equipped with an electric cooker and hob, fridge with freezer compartment, slimline dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, and traditional Belfast sink. A farmhouse door opens to a small patio. The kitchen features a tiled floor and modern electric radiator. First Floor: A carpeted staircase leads to the first floor, which houses two bedrooms and a bathroom: • Bedroom 1: A twin room with two single beds, a bedside table, and a wardrobe with a mirrored door. An electric radiator ensures warmth.• Bedroom 2: A double room featuring a cozy bed, bedside tables, wardrobe with a mirrored door, and an electric radiator.• Bathroom: Fully tiled with a double shower, WC, basin with illuminated mirror, and a heated towel rail.• Separate WC: A toilet with basin, extractor fan, and tiled floors. The property also includes a cellar with a washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, and heater for drying wet clothes, along with a hot outdoor shower for rinsing off sand after beach trips. Outdoor Relaxation: Just a short walk up from the cottage, a private raised deck offers stunning views over the estuary and Fowey. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Parking:As the cottages were built before parking was a consideration, parking is available at the Polruan pay & display car park at the top of the hill.
