But to call it a municipal park, is like calling the Eiffel Tower an I-beam. The park is essentially a people-friendly urban forest, complete with all the flora and fauna you might expect to find there. There are seventy miles of walking trails, one of them -- the Wildwood Trail is 29 miles long from one end to the other. The park itself is about 8 miles to a side, so there are places at its heart that make you forget you are anywhere near a municipal area. This shot was taken at about mile 17 of the Wildwood Trail. The blue diamond on the tree in the background is a quarter-mile marker.
