Located in Florence's Santa Maria Novella neighbourhood, Hotel Palazzo Vecchio is in the city centre and near a train station. Hubby and I stayed here as part of our bigger European vacation. We only stayed here one night but I feel like we got a good feel for the city in that time. This hotel is very close to the train station and very walk able with luggage. Just a heads up, (and this is not the fault of the hotel) there is a strong scent of urine out on the street near the front of the hotel. There were a few streets in Florence that had that same aroma so I am not sure what that's about. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to leave our luggage when we checked in early because our room wasn't ready yet. The room itself was small and tired looking/feeling. The beds were a bit firm but not terrible. The bathroom was clean and the shower had good pressure. There is no view with this hotel. The appeal for this place is mostly location to the train station and it's position within the city being central enough to allow you to explore on foot. There are lots of food/beverage/shopping options nearby. Overall, this is not a bad hotel. If you are just looking for clean, relatively comfortable, no frills type property, and a pleasant staff then this place is for you.
